Sring pressure with Muzzy lockup

I've got a feeling I've got too much spring pressure in my A1 Muzzy lockup. Does anyone have an installed guide pressure to aim for as a base setting. I've got three A1 springs and three Muzzy ones at the moment but the bike is very agressive on launch at times. I mean too agressive! Like exit stage left! I measured the installed length and it seems to be 40.5mm. Thanks guys. Keith

wow no wonder you had to make the hydraulic conversion. how much weight are you running?
take out the HD springs!

i thought you were supposed to running less static with a lockup? all that pressure, plus the action of the arms is gonna make for some broken clutch pullers

I never had problems with stock springs and no weights.
Try it and let me know what you think!

yes, use less spring pressure than stock. i can pull my clutch lever in with one finger and im not built like arnold schwarzenegger, and no fancy hydraulic conversion. the arms start kicking in after about 15 feet. you dont need very much spring pressure. the arms do most of the work, and they dont need to be weighted. they are setup waay overkill from Muzzys or MTC. hint, i run less weight than 6 bare arms

Thanks guys, your replies confirm my feelings. I've had some wild rides over the last few seasons, I'm gonna try the stock A1 springs, which are lighter than the B model ones and will report back. Won't get to ride till April though because of the weather over here and then it may be wet. There's no fool like an old fool. Ha Ha, Keith

I had weight on three arms too so thats got to come off. Just trimmed my fairing back a bit more so I can get in there easily to add pressure and weight at my first race!!!!!!!!!!! Ha Ha
8 seconds here we come, haven't run one since 1975.

keep dropping spring pressure untill you can snap the clutch lever out as fast as possible off the line(no slipping by hand) and drop weight untill your mph drops off, then add a tiny bit of weight. it will be way easier on parts. bare arms count as weight

You got to get in the park first.

think one finger pull on the spring pressure. the arms do most of the work. somewhere around half of oem spring pressure would get you in the park, then adjust from there. 3 stock springs and 3 muzzys springs are way out of the park, across the pond even . everyones setup will be different based on chassis, motor, power adders, bike weight, driver weight, driver style ect ect.

Live and learn, my riding style is to drop the clutch off the line, I've always ridden that way, can't do the hand feeding thing. Nox, I've emailed your contact, thanks. Keith
