aligning the spring plate n the hub there r circles to match. There are numerous circles on the hub, there is also 2 grooved teeth, if one was north the other would be pointed south. The dot on the plate doesnt match directly with the cirlcle on the hub but matches the tooth on the hub wit the groove. Which should it b lined up wit, in the manual it shows the cirle but the spring plate doesnt match up direclty

i use the Mobil 1 15/50 !,, did you ever get the clutch dialed in,, once you do it once and realize the difference between the 1.6s and 2.0s you will understand the stack height issue,, i too was once where you were and yes there are a lot of guys on here that know their shit..

stack height was 57.4, put it in, like i said i had an issue wit the spring plate, torqued the springs like it said, put on the cover n now missing the spring on the puller, i dont remember it even bein on. Anyway ordered a new one, along wit rod release, bearing, puller n spring, washers. Figure if i open it back up mind as well change it, Don't really show signs of wear to me but what the hell right, I tried to adjust the clutch like it says in the manual but it doesnt look right, the angle of the puller is off, its more forward toward the front than in the manual. Is this cause of the height of the stack? Started it up n had to adjust it way way out to get it to disengage. Absolutely no free slack in the lever. Could the spring plate b the problem other than the spring being missing on the puller? Would different springs change the angle of the puller?

are you using a gasket or silicone on the cover? no gasket makes the stack height appear higher as the puller is closer to the motor that way. if you dont have a gasket, get a cometic one. they are more user friendly as far as reusing goes. if you have a gasket allready, lower the stack height a tiny bit and recheck the angle. the pressure plate doesnt affect it if its in flush with the stack. clutch springs dont either. just gasket thickness and stack height

i am using the gasket that was on it, i figured i would have to go back inside for something so i didnt want to use the new gasket until everything was working fine. Guess i will take the 2.0 out n put a 1.6, but .4 would make the puller way out like that? I might as well wait til i get the new partsl, especailly the cable n that puller spring before i go to far backwards. Pisses me off that i cant remember this spring being on there or not. To get the clutch to disengage i had to move the bottom almost out ot the last thread n the lever adjuster way out to the end also. once i did that the clutch was working! didnt go down the road cause its like 24 degrees. Can the puller b put in wrong n still actuate but at a different settiign or is it simply on or off its position.

got it put together wit all new shit, from the cable all the way throught to the clutches, The puller arm is still at a angle less than 60* it says it should be at for adjustment, i had to adjust the clutch handle way out to get the clutch to fully disengage. I m guessing for some reason the 57.4 is thicker than it is wit the spring n ring in, so the stack height must be tooooo tall now, but is was measured right on the micrometer, I adjusted it the way it says and the bike wouldnt disengage the clutch enough to starrt it in gear, like i said adjusted way out to disengage, I will post pics of the clutch installed to give an idea of how the clutch height is, hope this helps any bodys response. It rides good except for it moves as soon as u start to let out of the clutch, lol. But the way it looks, the clutch will not engage fully do to the fact i have it adjusted way out, hope yall understand what i m sayin, i m getting confused just tryin to explain, here are some pic

forget about free play,, and take up the slack at the bottom (clutch cover) with light preasure,, then set your free play at 1/8th inch maybe a tad more and thats it..,, when you take the cable apart pull the puller arm out and inspect it for abnormal wear,, if there is none re install and follow the above steps before taking it apart again..

try 2 cover gaskets, if that doesnt give you some adjustability, take out 0.3mm or so
