04-05 Kleen FI light solved
Ok, I've finally solved the FI problem for those of us unlucky enough to have the 04-05 Kleen air system that is controlled electronicaly instead of by vacuum like the 03 and down ZX12's. Now removing the Kleen system is pretty straight forward and when you unplug and remove the Kleen pump the FI light would stay on with the 04-05 models, you need to put a 20 ohm restistor inline to make the light go off, but if you have done this you will realize that it only lasts about a day or 2 and it's toast, you have to get a resistor rated to handle the Wattage as well as put the 20 ohm load on the circuit. After extensive research and testing I have found that you need a 20 ohm / 10 watt resistor, this will eliminate all FI light concerns and last without burning out. Best thing is you can buy them at any electronics store ( not Radio Shack or Circuit City ) but any store that sells circuit boards and things of this nature, or ebay has them. I bought a pack of 2 for $4.95. Happy shopping !!
