Stator Gasket
Bah...I cannot believe how annoying this thing is.
First it slices through my finger as im putting it back on the bike...then my hand slips as im puttin the cover/coil back on as the magnet grabs and apparently crushes a side of the gasket....which caused it to leak at high speed.
So I call ron ayers...part is 14 dollars...but not in stock. "Sure we can overnight it..but that cost an addtional 30 dollars" WTF?
Call the stealership...price is 25 dollars for the gasket..and another 25 for overnight delivery. Goddam..50 bucks for a gasket? sheesh.

Be more patient, get some RTV Silicone, remove the case use a thin coat where the gasket is damaged and just wait through normal ordering time. That gasket is aluminum and can be reused.

Yea...ron ayers said 7/10 days.
I currently have the old gasket sandwiched between two aluminum plates in a vise in hopes I can smush it back to normal...then ill rtv it and pop it back on to see if it will hold for the weekend.

Man, you gotta be careful with that Stator Cover! I think those magnets came out of a friggin generator from the Hoover Dam!

lol...thats what I said. First time I cracked it open I swore up and down that there was a hidden bolt or something I missed holdin that sumbitch on!!

this is an area where it is believed that there is horsepower to be gained. Factory Honda engines seem to have just enough magnetic field to create the needed electricity, and no more. And like magic those engines make more horsepower. A couple of horses here a couple over here, one here and pretty soon you have more than everyone else!!

You know, fish has the infamous clutch petition going. An item that is certainly not the best thing about the 12. It is however a wear item and subject to shall we say debate and mixed reviews. On the other hand, it is nearly impossible to find a 00 or 01 12 that has any miles on it that doesn't have oil running out of the friggin plug in the trunk.
This is an obvious design failure on Kawasaki's part. It is unsightly, unsafe in some cases and frankly a joke that a company that makes airplanes can seem to fix. It is not something we should have to design and engineer. So where is fish and his petition now!
We hung Swft's 12 frame vertically while working on it for a week or so. The damn thing dripped for days out of the wiring. Harleys don't even do this!!

I squirted some RTV in the plug to hopefully prevent that. However I have yet to find any oil in my wires.
