Shiphteey, i've got marchesini forged aluminum wheels.

Nox: Drag tires?

EastBayDave, I'm looking into the zrx boards and so far have had no luck wih my search.
How much are the parts? It's souuds fairly expensive and not much weight difference.

Titanium axles approximate cost vs. weight reduction?

Had the wheels on the scales yet? Warp12 reported about a 4 lb weight savings going with the Carazerrio wheels (combined)....magnesium or carbon would yield better results. Newer OEM wheels from lighter newer bikes could be something to look into. I weighed a newer gixxer rim and it was on par with the dymag magesium wheels I had for sale, at least the front. Less exotic and maybe more of a headache to get to fit but just a thought. Haven't really heard of aluminum wheels being that much lighter than the stock heavy cast stuff....

Weighed the stock wheel with cush drive etc vs. marchesini. I found the front to weigh approximately 1 1/2 pounds lighter and the rear was about 5- 5 1/2 lb lighter.

I'd be very happy to get my bike down the 450 ish weight some of you fellas have.

I'm not willing to go to the extremes due to it still being occasionally ridden on the street.

I am thinking of doing some of the suggestions including light weight body work and Ti axles, gas tank etc.

KZScott: carbon fiber half tank???

EastBayDave: I emailed your friend and am waiting to see what he's got.

Ive heard about them... it was quite awhile ago, I think Mad Mike saw one?

I would suggest removing the little pieces of brass located in your nitrous nozzels. that tiny bit of weight reduction would do wonders for improving power to weight ratio :P

I would also investigate a newer/lighter radiator from a newer bike. OEMs are always shaving weight off it, although the newer models all have curved units vs the 12's washboard. IIRC, the 10R radiator has lost some 11lbs over the years.

its about 8lbs for 1 hp.....so dropping 80 lbs is like gaining 10 hp.....which is far more realistic than a 1 for 1....

KZScott: I have a dyno tune dry Nitrous Kit and a Chuck Wilburn spray bar. Although i've yet to use the spray bar set up for the drags. In my signature i was spraying a 50 shot. It gave me an approximate 10 mph gain and about .2 reduction in the qtr over all motor.

sounds like its doing its thing but is delayed. i had a 60 shot running very rich with a bunch of timing pulled that was good for 10 mph and about .4 et activated in second gear(instantly since i have a fogger per velocity stack), so more et reduction was possible if activated sooner (if wheelies arent an issue) a dry shot that fogs the air box (dynotune starts in the ram air way up front right?) take awhile to kick in. how long is your bike? i bet you could spray a lot sooner in the run and get way more out of that 10 mph
