BEAR Stacks - who was selling them Stateside?
I think I remember a post from Bear either here or on another site that said he was shipping several sets to a company here in the US.
I thought it might be Schnitz, but I just called them and they said they don't have them.
Anyone know who it was?

:Finger I need my extra Hp to carry all of the "insurance Policy" I have added to protect against "Starvation"!! (At least that is what I was told fat is for!!)Orient Express must be close to having them, I think the problem was Pierre shipped them by Air and (As he says living in a 3rd world country) they shipped them by boat! Takes a long time! I think Orient has already paid Bear so "Any Day Now"!!

Other than the fact that the bear stacks are beautifully made (at least in the pictures I have seen) do they produce more H/P than modified stock ZX-12 stacks? By modified I mean stock stacks which are opened up (ported) to match the throttle bodies. I was advised by Doug early in the development of go fast goodies for the ZX-12 that the stock stacks needed to be opened up and matched to the throttle bodies. Has anyone tested the Bear stacks against modified stock stacks either on the dyno or drag strip? Just curious if there is any objective test data out there on this.

You are talking to him The difference is that on a "Stock" Bike Modified Stock Stacks make "LESS" HP On a modified bike with pipe, Air Filter and PC3R, the stock Modified stacks then make no "Less" Static HP and the Bear make between 3 to 5 More "Static" HP! The reality is that they must make about 15 to 20 Dynamic HP To make a bike with all of that drag gain 5 to 7 MPH!! I do not know with Modified Stock Stacks what the MPH Difference is! TedG who started all of this and I think this is how the bikes were slowed by 3 to 5 MPH (Take a fast ZX12RIt would do between 184 to 187 Add 5 Mph to either and you have 189 to 192) That is our story and we are sticking to it!!

Hey Vincent - I'm sold on these suckers - gonna pick em up in about 2 days (payday!!). What new bolts do you recommend (Size, threads etc etc)? I DO NOT WANT TO GRIND THE STACKS - I just want to get the right new mounting bolts! Thanks in advance.

I hear you Just take one of your stock screws anywhere (a dealer or speciality shop or even Home Depot) and look for Silver head without the notches on the sides (Any Allen head will do) The largest i saw only scrapped the stack! (Use a little!! Blue Loctite) Once in place use some Silicone two blend the stack with the bolt! Try not to force the silicone into the head of the bolt, but over and around it (You are just trying to keep the air from hitting a flat spot and disrupt air flow!!)
