Are all busa owners this stupid!?

Rode at the gap this weekend and today around noon a busa owner decides to wheelie his bike right over the edge, literally. The guy pulled a wheelie on a slight down grade and couldn't set it down and stop it in time and rode right over the edge. Some forty feet below the road he laid for an hour before paramedics arrived as his riding buddies stayed next to him. Now I don't like seeing anyone get hurt and I'm not making fun of him but that was just plain STUPID!! To top it off he was wearing only jeans and a T-shirt....at the Tail of the Dragon....on a busa....doing a wheelie! I hope he is alright and will be able to ride again. I also hope he's a little wiser after this.

Unfortunately this kind of stupidity is not only found in busa owners. Pretty much can find it in about every type of bike. Goes to the "squid" mentality. And really relates more to the fact that anyone with money or credit have a bike.

Some people are just unbelivable, just saw a local squid leaving the gas station wheeling into town carrying a glass bottle drink in his mouth. Talk about stupid.

Hey Brain,
I was wondering where you went. I have not heard either. I'll call tommorow before I head home. I hope he will make a full recovery. Really took the wind out of my sails today seeing that. By the way, I am in medical sales. I sell devices to open blocked arteries in the legs. It was good talking with you today. Ride safe...and smart like I know YOU will. Take care.

This has nothing to do with Busa riders!!! But you would think that as an owner of a High performance machine...that he would have been a little wiser than that!!!

I really hope that he is Okay!!!

WOW. That sounds like a REALLY bad decision (the wheelie that is). Did he hit the rear brake hard? I guess it really doesnt matter - that kind of riding @ the dragon is bound to get you hurt after a while. I REALLY have to get out to see that road sometime... I've only seen it from "bike video" .

guys i'm begging you

please, please be careful when you come here.My friends and i are blessed to have the Gap as our backyard playground, and i'm as guilty as anyone thats ridden it.I have totaled a bike there as has just about everybody that rides in our group. One guy has 3,but we grew up on this road and it's just as demanding today as it was 30 years ago,if not more.Sunday i had a very spirited ride down to the store and was having a great day checking out the 200 or so bikes and got to meet Speednuts by chance. We had talked about 45 minutes about being smooth when word came that a guy had gone down hard.We went to see if we could help.To say the least it was a depressing scene.Dudes best friend holding him while he is dying. This road is eating up out of towners at an alarming rate.I think i read that counting this poor soul 8 have died since june.If you come from areas that are flat and straight your probably a wheelie and speed guy.It don;t go hand in hand with the beast. If you f#@k up for a 1/10 of a second it will get you on a highspeed run.I was lucky on my get off,[classic low side, followed the bike into a drop off of 5-6 feet compared to 30-50 dropoffs that are everywhere.2 broke ribs, knee surgery ,just a good ole ass whuppin and i consider myself lucky. My point is,if your not adept in cornering and concentration, don't revert to what you do well.
