Bonneville Box

Whats your opinion on getting a bonneville box for the ZX12 ? What exactly does it change? Top end speed or horsepower???

Top End speed....Useless unless you plan on running over 180 mph.....It takes the 180mph limiter away,I beleive....

Need one ? Have one for '01-'02. They remove the 186 top speed restriction from the 2001 and up models.

6th gear has a lower rev limit then the other 5. (to limit the bike to 186mph with stock gearing and stock rear tire size) the BB raises the rev limiter in 6th to match the other 5 gears. i have one on my bike, and yes it works, i can show you the log file i recorded the other night where i hit the limiter in 6th(now at 11600) doing custom mapping(OOPS lol)

Does anyone know if any of the 2000 models manufactured later in the year (2000 and a half) were impacted by the limiter ruling or was it something that specifically started on the 2001 models? I've run into mixed information on this. Thanks.

I know there are at least two versions of both the US and Euro A1 2000 model ECUs

For the US both have the same Kawi number, 21175-1069 but different Denso numbers;

112100-510
112100-511

If you post your ECU number and its one of the above numbers I can check the software and tell you for sure.
