Sunday, I shit my bags!
Nearly dumped it on Sunday, wet roads, bald tyres. Front end slid and gripped again. Must be the time of year, everybody's talkin about falling off!

we just took our bikes off the road... .perfect example is today.... it's beautiful out! BUT... there are leaves all over the road.. the tyres heat up inconsistently and the drivers (cars) are real twits right now... the bike makes more power in this weather and the tyres simply DONT hook up... even on Kiwi's 6R... Luckily we have freek's "garbage bike" (Nighthawk450 with clubman bars).... we will ride that all winter and beat the snot out of it... if it falls over or whatever no biggee...
Be very very carefull out there fellas! Put away your nice kit and drag out them garbage bikes! Abuse them and wait til spring (unless of course you live in Arizona or somewhere nice and warm like that in whichcase you are the enemey to the rest of us )

I just had to go riding today. It was unusually warm. At 69F it was a nice ride.
This is from the South end of the Salt Lake looking towards the North West.

More like KX weather.
Off road motorcycle madness from here on. Have a KX 125 for this purpose, and 100 acres of bog.

I heard ANYONE can go out on the salt lake anytime. Is this true? I sure would like to try it for a safe setting (no cops) for top speed runs...

Unless their is an event going on I would not go for a top speed run on the Bonneville Slat Flats. The land is owned by the BLM. No police are out their. I have gone out on the Salt Flats when no events are going on, their can be some rather severe ruts and bumps that would end your day really fast. During the winter rains cover the flats in about 3 inches of water. No fun their eiher.
In all fairness the ruts that I came across were tracks from other vehicles. I came across some of the ruts at about 140 on my ZX-11 a few years ago.
