Well, she got back and was all excited. She said she loved it.
She's going to sign up for the next class.
I think she rode about 20 times. Just a couple hundred feet, to learn how to work the clutch and brakes. The instructor said her last run was "excellent"

Sweet! Glad to hear it Doug.
I took the girl I'm seeing on her first moto ride last night...just local surface streets and a few sweepers. She loved it too. Who knows, maybe you and your girl, me and my girl, Muzbgreen and his wife, and Nano and...err...well, his dog can all get together and go for a ride sometime.
BTW, what are you doing tomorrow morning, say 8'ish?

My lesson by Doug's Bitch...
Location - parking lot for some County facility building near Convoy, large and fenced in. You wait at the gate and the instructor comes by and lets you in. Course is about 500 feet long and 100 or so feet wide. And don't quote me on that because I have no idea if I am remotely close to guessing the actual size.
First we sat around and read the instructions outloud to each other (very 5th grade like, but effective). Then we got to practice getting on, getting off, finding neutral and "slowly releaassssssseeeeeee" the clutch.
Back to instructions
We stradle-walked the bike across the course they set up, and then got pushed to get used to having your knees up.
Back to instructions
Learned how to turn it on.
Back to instructions
Got to move it across the course first by walking it across with the clutch slightly out and then by actully picking your feet up.
Got to ride the course length-wide for a longer ride and then back.
That's it. But when you don't know anything, that is fine.
The class was eclectic...someone from Logan Heights, 3 senior citizens, some young criminal, a guy who just moved here from NJ, an army dude's wife and me. Totally fun. Gonna take all 4 lessons, get my permit and do the DMV course.

I'm heading to Palomar around 8am tomorrow morning. If anyone is interested in making the loop, we're meeting at Mira Mesa and the 15 fwy between 8 and 830 am tomorrow morning in the Edwards Cinemas parking lot. Should be a good time.
