Hey Swft... how is that Muzzy EMS?

Do you like it? Is it all set up? I think I missed your "final" update on it. I'm sick of this "band-aid" PC-IIIr approach to re-mapping the stock unit and I'm wondering if the EMS can be easily installed in a closed loop system, so that mapping can be done on the fly on the '12?

I'm waiting on getting the bung welded to the midpipe, and then I'll let you know bout mapping. But it wasnt too much of a hassle to install, as long as you have no fear about cutting the harness and swapping out a few connectors. In a pure race application, you could chuck the stock computer, and just run the EMS and a tach. But if you want a streetable bike, leave the stock computer in place to run the instrument console and put a piece of tape over the FI light. Heh, was thinking of wiring the shift light output from the EMS to the FI light in the stock cluster, but I don't the the voltage output will match up. Will have to check it out.

I can't wait to hear about this! I think that using the EMS as a more precise "closed loop" mapping system sounds fantastic. Let us know how it goes, and if the bike runs better!

Well, I can tell you that it idles very well, even at 1000 rpm, the idle is very smooth. Startup is pretty good too, with initial choke only needed to start it, and no revving to the moon after starting. Still figuring out the rev limiter, and how to adjust it properly. I will prolly have to bug Doug again.

OK Swft - once I figure how to get someone to install my A/F bung.. I'm seriously going to consider this options. Get rid of the PC-IIIr and get a REAL fuel injection system!!! WOOHOO!! Are you planning on posting a "how to" guide? I'm sure lots of us would like to see it/get your help, I know that many of us have enjoyed the PC-III's we have, but are looking for a better solution!

When Muzzy offers the system with the optionof them installing it I'll consider it. Otherwise having watched Swft's installation I'll pass!
