there's a whole forum dedicated to to the rally. sportbikewest is the rally. http://www.sportbikewest.com is their website. just a plain ol rally, almost 500 bikes the last coupla years. definitely not jsut 12s. 12's r not common at the rally in fact. it's this weekend tho so if ya can come, better get movin! go read up in the forum. vitals: Aug 16th thru 18th in Kelowna, BC.
swft, i havent bin across the border in some time, definitely not since sept so i guess i cant really comment. tho i admit i have a hard tiem believing it would be that hard to get across on yer bike to get to a rally. just figured that u having the flexible schedule , ud be a prime candidate.

I went to Banff, Canada a week ago, about 15 of us all on bikes, and we had more of a harder time coming back into the States then we did leaving.

The issue is not going into Canada, it is comung back into the states. I have to get a new passport. Susposedly that makes it easier. I just hate the hassles. I like the Canadian events because they are fun. I have done a ton of Motocross events in Canada. Bar none they have been the funnest!!!
The Oldtimers National Motocross organization I belong to has chapters in BC and Alberta. The BC club holds their Canadian event at Hanigan raceway in nearby Bellingham. because of the border hassle has cut down on the attendance at their event. A Canadian National in Washington State!!

keepin americans outa the country? wtf is the point in that? besides, if they jsut left the country a few days earlier & r commin bak in, isnt it too late? u shoulda kept em out in the first place! thats just stupid.besides, what does having a new passport prove? that u can afford the time to stand in line all day? that u got enough patience & smarts to fill out some forms & send them off with enough time to get them back before ur trip? hmm...i guess they'r right. anyone who meets those 2 conditions must b a good wholesome american :\
good thing the sept thing would just require canadians to cross the border. even tho we r foreigners & there has been so much publicity about the number of terrorists residing in canada, apparently we r still safe to let across the border easily. go figure. again, :\

Actually in this case it is the dumb ass Americans in this case. We can get into Canada without any problem. It is the damn US customs guys that grill us on the way back in. I got the total shit ass hassle trying to get back in the country because all I had was my Drivers License and a copy of my Birth Certificate. They said I need the original! Big hassle lots of BS. A passport is acceptable and it takes a picture ID to get one here!? Go figure!!

I havent had any prob getting in er out of the US... gone lots of times since 9/11 .... must be yer "shady" backgrounds there boys!

The problem is the same as always with the US government. The fact that Canadians can travel back and forth easier then American makes us safer! Don't ask us to make sense out of this shit. We have rules in this country that require the Airlines search 95 year old women and not search Middle Eastern travelers with Palistinean passports. I'm not picking on people of the middle east, but come on! Grandma didn't knock the World trade center. She hasn't bombed the hell out of numerous other places and people.
I traveled freely back and forth until this shit on 9/11. Effectively the terroists won. They changed our way of life. I just have to get down and pick up the pasport. It is easier for me to get a passport then an original birth certificate!!
That makes a lot of sense.

Z... ever since 9/11 everytime I trave to the US I take my passport with me... hence there is NEVER a question.... I USED to travel to the US all the time sans ANY ID.... maybe a driver's license... yer guys never cared.... just take a passport and there wont be a question/prob
