false laser readings on the V1......

im out on a 150 mile twisty ride last week and my V1 goes nuts telling me that i am being lasered. i look and no cops anywhere. i keep going, 10 seconds bleeep bleep bleep, another laser reading, i look and no cops. 20 minutes later same thing again. i was doing around 100mph all 3 times so had there of been a cop i surely would have seen one and probably would have gotten a ticket.

anyopne else have false laser detections with the V1?

btw, i love my V1 and would never ride without it, but the falsies are giving me a heart attack.

No problems here, either. Does it work properly and with pretty good range with the various radar bands (K, Ka & X)? You might want to give the folks at Valentine a call. They seemed pretty helpful when I called.

i called V1,

they said that false lasers occur near airports due to the overload in microwave activity. i was neas a very small local airport at the time but only laser went off, not x, k , or ka. they also said that certain cars taillights can cause this, i think they mentioned trailblazers.

Well a real laser couldn't hit yours where it is mounted right now anyway Sherm. If it did indicate a laser hit I'd suggest you find a soft place to land because your bike is about to explode.

my v-1 has falsed when using a remote control device around it, as well as my digital camera, but mine stays mounted inside my vehicle.

I have received the false laser warning too. It has occurred near a couple of smaller airports. in Oregon and Idaho. Both located near the freeway. Scares the hell of you!!

buzzing along in the middle of buttfuck nowhere at a cool 130...ish, nothing but clear road in sight and Bleeepety fucking bleeep in my ears. of course my reflex is to grab as much of that front brake as possible, nearly killing myself just to realize it was a false alarm.

like a shrill of death still resonating in my brain cavity. i have nightmares about the damn sound. i think i need some therapy to deal with it properly. i call it SFLS (syphillis) sudden false laser syndrome.

Perhaps you can get some money from the government for your disability. The incident has probably caused or will cause you a lifetime of nightmares and trauma. Maybe there is a class action lawsuit here. You won't need a group buy you'll need group therapy and a bigger shop to hold all of the new toys!!
