? for Doug Meyer
Recent topic at Road America, what causes the exhaust flame on decelerating as seen on some bikes and even stock cars and others? Been hearing a lot of BS on this topic and thought you would be "the man".

Mind if i take a wack at this one.
Probably rich at high rpm and low throttle.
Say if it's rich at 2% throttle and 7-9k rpm.
You would only hit this part of the map on deceleration.
What do you say doug?

No mystery here. Just lots of fuel on the over-run. What's the BS?

Just rich in the pilot circuit on a carburated bike?Been hearing things from cam timing to exhaust design, head design, different race fuels.Do some race teams do this on purpose to maybe make the transition from decel to accel smoother or they just dont know any better? Thanks Doug
