Slip On for 02 ZX12R?
Just want to change the sound without losing anywhere. Muzzy doesn't have anything yet. D&D has a Slip On that I am considering?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Go with a pipe...period. You can get sound from your stock muffler by just gutting it. Why pay $300 or more for no gains? Full system is around $500 new, even cheaper used. Substansial weight savings and power all the way to redline. What more do you want?

I agree... dont waste yer time with a slip on... and fer christsakes DONT drill yer pipe.. .I made that mistake and it really fucked up my system.... made it impossible to map with a PC3.... just bite the bullet and get a full system... I recommend a Muzzy... if you cant afford or not available grab a Yosh.. Yosh is moving out of the full system market and they are clearing out their full systems at really good prices... you can try our sponsor, Burnaby Kawasaki (I'm not sure if the Yosh bail out is just a canada thing er what) but their prices on Yosh systems are wicked and in Canadian dollars... ask for Brian

I have a yosh bolt on can and I love it. It does give you a little more ponies and the bike revs quicker and easier. but that's not why I got it. I wanted to leave my bike as stock as can be. It runs fine and I don't notice any idle hunt. Best of all I didn't have to remove my cat, clean air, intall block off plates, install a power commander (and f**k with it) no need to put on a different fan because the header melted it. No need to worry about my power commander taking a shit and causing a too rich or too lean condition, but ya know that NEVER happens cus them P/C's NEVER fail.
Lets recap shall we: I spent approx. $250.00 on the muffler and $100 on the BMC filters and my bike is as streetable as it was when it rolled off of the floor (if not better) and in the hands of the right rider (ie not 320lbs like me) can beat any bike with a full system and all the goodies and a shitty rider.
If you want good sounds an a little more ponies to boot without the worries....get a slip on and ride the shit out of it!

Muzzy doesn't have anything yet? I don't understand that. Why wouldn't the '00-'01 "flange-on" muffler fit an '02 model?? Isn't the stock exhaust system the same on all three year models?

I'm like Bigj12 in so much as I want to keep my 12 stock. The D&D slip on is in the mail. Where can I get BMC filter for the 02 12? Thanks. Ed.

Nasty,
Your gonna like the D&D A riding buddy of mine has one on his 12. It's louder than my yosh though. As for the filters, I got mine at my local speed shop, I just told them how much I could get them by ordering on line and they matched the price w/shipping. I paid approx. $100.00 to $110.00 I can't remember exactly.

Hey BigJ12...I had a full D&D system on a Superhawk "VTR" a couple years ago and that sound is awesome . I know NOTHING about fuel injection. My last bike was a 02 ZX900 that I put 8000 miles on in 4 months. I owned a couple ZX1100 D models & know that air ram injection collects debris quick.
Guess I'll find out whats under there when I get the air filter . Thanks...Ed.
