HID lights
Anyone have HID's on there bike. I am concerned about heat from the light and ballast. And I am concerned about wiring. Some instructions say that you have to replace the light fuse with a 20 or 30 amp fuse. I think thats too much for the stock wiring. And what do you do about the automatic light feature. Do you wire a switch or can you leave the auto function.

I have never had any problems at all with my HID's, in fact the heat issue with the bulds is the opposite, as they produce less heat than stock halogens. I have never changed the fuses either, as they say "plug in and play".
The only difficulty in fitting is locating the ballasts (under the ram air covers), get the slimline ballasts if you can.
Also, get the 55w HIDS if you can, I have 35w fitted to the bike, and 55w to my car. The 55w kit is much brighter, however you wouln't be disappointed with the 35w kit compared to the stock lights.
As I don't have the automatic light feature, I cannot comment, but I'm sure someone will!

Did you put your lights on a separate switch? What brand did you get? I noticed on a truck forum alot of guys are buying some from a company VVME. They were something like $70 dollars I think. I did some research and found some info that said the $200 dollar and $70 dollar kits are just alike. Made in the same place. And what are digital ballast, or are they all digital.

I'm in the UK, they were bought from HIDS4U, they are very high quality, absolutly no problems with them. I suspect the cheap one's will not last.

They are not on a seperate switch, they are digital, I suspect the really cheap ones are not digital.
Better to get some recomendations from your stateside buddies on where to buy.

I KNOW THIS POST IS WAAAY OLD BUT THE PM SYSTEM IS DOWN SO I THOUGHT I DO WOULD FOR A FOLLOW UP ON THIS 1975 DID U EVER GO WITH A KIT??? OR ANYBODY ON THIS BOARD??? deffinitely looking into doing some kind of upgrade to my bike cause the stock lights are useless at night at about 100mph

i opted for the HID HARNESS just to be sure i have no issues with blackouts
but it adds a lot more wires to hide
took me longer to plan out where to put all the wires than it did to install
but I'm very happy!! and will never go back to halogen bulbs

lookin to wither make or buy HIDs for my bike.. i wanna run projectors tho.. got a set of M3 projectors, but can't find shit in an H7 bulb so far
