Installed a new handle bar

My 12 fell over on the ferry a while back. After putty it back together in it's current 1361 mode I noticed the fall bent the right side handle bar. Ordered one up from Ron Ayers.com and she came in today. If you havn't changed out your bars you are in for a treat.

Kawasaki is apparently afraid that the stock bars might fall off. They red loctite the damn allen bolt that holds the bar in place. I couldn't get it to budge so I put my 3/8 drive heavy duty CP air impact hammer on it. Didn't phase it. So I pulled out the big boy. My 1/2" drive Snap On impact, held my breath hoping it wouldn't strip the allen head and boom the bolt backed out! Yes!!

The rest was easy. So beaware that the bar is bolted on with red loctite and you should be prepared to use an impact if you have to replace the bar. I used blue loctite on the new bar.

$46.35 including $7 for shipping.

I could probably have musled the damn bolt out with a ratchet but I was afraid of stripping the head out of the allen.

Of course the stick of aluminum has some special prep on it. Two dowel hols positioned for both the kill switch and throttle, a dowl to locate the bar in the tripple clamp so that the dowl holes are properly lined up and then both ends of the bar are threaded to except the mounting bolt and the bar end. Certainly a guy could make all of this happen but, I would rather go riding.

Geeze, you have the exact same tool taste as me, I too have a CP 3/8 one that was actually made in Chicago, and my 1/2 is the Snap-on IM5100 but I also have a Rodac 1/2er.
