Tool Kit that comes with the 12
So I'm looking at buykawasaki.com at the parts diagram for my 02 12, and under the Owner's Tools heading, I see the following 2 items:
THREE BOND TB1211,HT/RS,WHITE
GASKET-LIQUID,TUBE,100G,BLACK
It has them pictured right there with the rest of the tools that came with the bike.
Did anyone else get these with there 12? I just got the standard tool kit that was mounted in the back end. Nothing else.
Do I even need these? What are they used for? Should I complain to the dealer I purchased my 12 from?

I got all that plus a Handy lift in my tool kit!
No really I can honestly say I did not get those two items in my stock tool kit. Don't see a reason to pack the stuff around either.

This may be a dumb question, but don't we have metric bikes, and the snap on stuff is all standard?

If you call them they will swap out the sockets for you. Actually they are really good about helping you when you need something.

ddp, I augmented my kit with:
A Snap-on 1/4 breaker bar with the plastic handle so you can use it as a driver.
An 8mm deep socket 6 POINT.
A 10mm Deep socket 6 POINT.
A 4mm hex driver
A 6mm hex driver.
A Tubeless tire repair kit with Co2 cartridges.
Get the Snap-on breaker bar with the plastic handle and any other brand for the other stuff if you wish to save money. The Snap-on has a screwdriver handle on it, and if you ever have to remove the battery inspection cover on the side of the road you will thank me for this advice. The stock toolkit 8mm will destroy the head of the bolts so damn fast it will make your head spin. It they get tight it may not loosten them at all. Using the breaker to loosten them and straighten it out and unscrew is just too sweet. Not to mention how well it works for the 4mm allens that hold the ashtray and the 6mms on the bottom of the tank cover.

Just add the list above to your stock kit and it will all be good. Although I would like to have the Snap-on bag, but I didn't see it listed.

I've got my
craftsman 1/4" ratchet,
extension,
1/4 to 1/8 adapter
sockets that fit my seat and my battery cover.
and a phillips head screwdriver for removing the screws in the plastic.
and the stock toolkit.
I probably need to get a 4,6,8 hex driver.
magnet stick for when you drop your screws in the engine

that snap on breaker is pretty sweet, but 35 bucks for a tool is a bit much in my mind.

You havn't looked through the Snap-on web site very much have you?? But you get what you pay for. I think that might be the chaepest tool in there.

dunno... 22348b told me to get one and I think it is a good idea.
He said they make them as small as a air pressure gauge.
Tedg- I stick with craftsman, nice and cheap and they replace when broken. I program computers, so I don't need tools that take a lot of abuse, just ones that work.

I program computers for a living also, but I'm a tool nut, others here can attest to that. You missed the tool wars.

ARRRRGH! AND ALL OF YOU HAVE MORE MONEY THEN I COULD EVER FRIGGIN' DREAM OF! I REFUSE TO LOOK AT THE SNAP ON LINKS WITHOUT A CONDOM (don't want to have to clean up the "mess" afterwards)!
I'm still making "double" monthly payments to Sears (at 21% interest) for some of my tools and cheap ass air compressor!

I personally don't know what it is you all are talking about. For thirteen years Snap On stopped at my house every Monday night at or around 6:30 as a part of his route, and the Mac tool guy stopped on Thursdays.
Of course they only stopped by to check on my health you know!
I have a tool box full here at home and the a tool box full at Swft's place. Unlike Swft I didn't have a race buddy show up with a box of Snap On and Mac tools!
I have kind of cured the addiction by spending more on motorcycles!!

Bullshit!! You are never cured, all you can do is admit that you are an addict. Wait till the first time you need some tool for the 12 and you will be on line like a junkie in witdrawals ordering what you want, need, must have. You can't fool me, I'm in the same boat. Snap-on, MAC are far more addicting than heroin.
