muzzy clutch ?
Installing a muzzy clutch pack , with all 10 steels, and 11 fiber's is there supposed to be a gap at the end of the pack between the last fiber and the end cap?

No,, the presure plate, needs to be rotated,, you should see some marks on the basket and presure plate,, that line up,, just pull it out rotate a little and keep doing that until the presure plate lays flush on the last fiber..

My 00 12r clutch slips at 9500 rpm. I have seen on this site that some have 12 fibers and 11 steels or 10 steels and 11 fibers. Which is which? I have a muzzy billet hub and so far i have changed the clutches once and put muzzys 6 heavy springs however now the clutch pull has lightened signaficantly. Is this the springs losing there integrity after only 1 year. I dont drag often but do rollons on the highway frequently and its pissing me off to have a 1270 kit and head work only to have the clutches slip. Is the muzzy kit worth the money. (Hope dave dont see this, lol)

zx9 springs are the same part number, they have 5, the 12 has 6. I know a lot of guys used zx6 springs. They are stronger.........
With 6 muzzy springs, it should not slip at all for normal use. They are VERY strong.......
Is it slipping the clutch, or spinning the tire.......?
The muzzy kit is not worth it...........
5 years of drag racing, 3 of them in the mid to high 1.30s , and never replaced the clutch.......
The stock components are just fine. Sounds like it may be out of adjustment.....

I've had the Muzzy Clutch kit and Basket in my 00' since it came out. I've had
nothing but trouble w/it. Had it in/out a dozen times trying to get it right, but
still no success. I KNOW it's something stupid I' m missing (I'm not a good
mechanic.)
It drags constantly which makes it hard to shift (up or down), and I fear it's
doing damage to the shift forks or gear dogs. It likes to drag me thru the
staging lights during my one strip visit leadiing to a red light even holding
the front brake.
Any suggestions? I've about given up...

Stack to High would not allow full dis-engagement! Remove 1- 2 mm steel and replace with a Stock 1.6 or 1.4 this will lower the strack by .4 to .6 MM
If the stack is too low, you will see the Puller starting to round out on the inside edges and wear on the part that is connected to the Arm! If that is the case remove 1 2.0 Steel and replace with 2 - 1.4 MM Steels! You will have ,8 more Height!
Look at the Book and you want your stack to be Iless than the High right up to the number, but above the LOW! It can never be less than the low number and not be a problem for the Pullers

The current heavy springs in it now are from schnitz racing, They were very stiff at the handle when first put in but have become easier to pull. Are the muzzy springs that much better, stiffer than the schnitz or is it the same. Its not tire spin thats for sure, wish i did have that much power, lol.

those of u that are spraying ur bikes what exactly are you running for a clutch, if you are using a lockup are you also riding on the street. Muzzys lock up clutch looks fairly easy to install. Also my clutch is adjusted to when i put it in gear and barely let of the lever the bike moves, i thought this would allow the most spring tension to be on the clutch, am i wrong by doing that?

DO NOT buy the muzzy clutch, unless you own or your family owns a machine shop, and you can duplicate a pull rod out of tool steel........., the hat on the muzzys is just a copy of a mtc, or mre, or any other single stage lock up......., unless you have the one Stuart Racing has, that I modded......, but the theory and action all work the same......
MTC makes the best.......
Never adjusted it like that......
Install it exactly as the manual says, with the correct amount of free play at the lever.....
1/8 of an inch of play, or a 1/2 inch, still the same pressure on the had when the lever is all the way out........

i dont think everyone is talking about the same thing here....
muzzy clutch kit= HD steels, 3 stiff springs, modded hub and that sleeve thing (for oiling)
muzzy lockup clutch= a bad lockup due to the pull rods
