as soon as you flip the switch it would ritchen the mix with RRs box. what do you think activates sooner? the ecu or the nitrous? im betting the ecu big time!

first get a good NA map. next, build RR's box and with a dyno or data logger, adjust the box so its running the proper AF ratio on a 35 shot running the NA map. also have the efir triggered to retard timing 3 degrees or so. so running the na map when the nitrous is activated, the timing retards and the fuel richens the proper amount for a 35 shot.
next, either repeat step one for the ultimate 2 stage setup (run a NA map in the power commander, but have the bike running rich and retarded when nitrous activates) or tune a nitrous map in the power commander for a 35 shot

so you can run a 35 shot on a NA map, or total of 70 on a "35 shot map"

at least im going to try something like this once i get my bike running again, im no expert, but it makes sense to me so far :P

I use the hub,map switch, ignition module on my street bikes. Makes for a nice set up,i add 3 to 4 degrees of ignition. (below 5K) The nitrous map map all so doubles as a economy / warm weather map with less fuel at cruise rpm. From 7k,i bump the fuel and pull 1 degree of timing, the spray starts at 8k.

well phantom, how much longer do I have to beat up on my 12 to prove it can handle big dope.
Just this friday I upped the jet sizes from 4-20's( 65 shot ) to 4-24's, didnt dyno it but with my history I have on the dyno I knew just how much fuel to add, every jet size was making 10 more HP, so I should be basically at 85 shot. ( Will post actual results soon)
ran the shootout class this past friday. 5 turbo bikes and my NOS 12, I came in 2nd cause I forgot to change the bottle, or should I say miscalculated how many runs I had on it.
The bike went 161mph in the 1/4 and 130 in the 1/8. I have one ticket that says it went 166mph. Hard to believe thats right but hey thats what the ticket says. My e/t 's are not so great, 8.84, but the bike is a handfull to ride at 64" It needs more wheelbase and its getting it.
I have been absolutely beating this bike up on dope at the track, no problems yet, knock on wood.
stock motor, tranny, injectors, fuel pump, original spark plugs, not even a valve adjustment. Bike has a little over 4k miles and 4 years of drag racing.
I think I'll check the plugs after friday night LOL>
Maybe I'll see you guys at the mile.

Not much longer. Spraying for 6 seconds at a time isn't enough duration to melt the pistons but it's enough to beat up on any engine in due time. We've seen that it's always the stock tranny that goes first on 200+rwhp ZX-12R's. The mile is approx. 21-23 seconds depending how quick you are. Can't wait to see you at Maxton.

and its 8.8 seconds at a time with back to back passes sometimes. Of course nothing will last forever, I dont care whats in an engine, if your making power shit will let loose, thats the price of going fast.. I ve seen built motors last less.
I ride a turbo busa with the best of everything, that sum bitch is always broke down.
My team mates 1k gixxer is turbo charged and stock motored and that sucker could be a bracket bike, fast and dependable. 2 years of beating on it with the turbo and no problems yet. its been 8.30's and is a true street bike.
There is no set amount of time to melt a piston, thats bull, weve melted a few in one 1/4 mile pass, forged ones at that.
wont make maxton but goliad is in my neigborhood.
If I make goliad we will put it to the test, I will spray the whole damn mile.
I think most the problems are from fogging the airbox, thats not a good mixture to run big shots, a direct intake injection is much better, no cylinder runs leaner than another.

I'm glad you've found success with the big shot on a stock engine. As for heat build-up over time... have you hooked up an EGT sensor to the bike and datalogged?

Good luck at goliad and your engine.
