vibrations

I need some help guys.

My zx 12 2000 is suddenly experiencing engine vibrations from 2500 rpm til at least 7500 rpm.It never had it before, onliy at 4000 to 4500 rpm. It always was smooth. I never raced from a cold engine. It has now done 10000 km or about 6200 miles. Do you have some advice what this can be? I also wil go to a dealer. Can it be the pc. or a loose bolt?

Its got a akra and pc and k&n filters.

I hope to hear from you.

Greetings from holland.

Jean Paul

Vibration

My 2000 w/ full Muzzy & PC3R is smooth through entire range compared to the 4500 rpm buzz when it was stock.

Check your motor mounts, swing arm bolt, steering head, and make sure they are tight and adjusted correctly. Does it run alright? If the fuel tank is not bolted down right it vibrates like a bitch and transfers it throughout.

TedG... this is intersting... I have a really bad vibration at 4250.. always have... Steering head is bang on as is swingarm pivot... havent checked mounts or tank... .I know most (if not all) 00/01 12 owners have this "vibe"... havent heard of anyone solving it...

are you suggesting it was yer gastank mount? can you be more specific on exactly WHICh items to torque? include torque specs for those without a manual please

thanks

Fish boy, the tank is literally squashing the rubber baby buggy bumpers underneath it. I took some small washers and put them under the the rear hinge to raise the tank up a bit. Also I put a nylock nut on the rear hinge pivot bolt and loosened it up so it wasn't squishing the rubber. Then I sanded down the buggy bumpers to relieve the pressure. It didn't remove the vibration completely but it helped. Next time you fill up, ride the bike an notice the vibes, then ride until about 1/2 tank and then feel the vibes, they will be noticably less. What does that tell us? At half a tank my bike does not have the buzz. The only thing I can feel now is that fucked up chain.
