Actually the ZX-12 gear position indicator is unique in that it has a single signal wire for each gear. This makes it possible to build your own, inexpensive gear position indicator.

The following zip contains some webpages I posted back in 2001 on how to construct one. Unzip it to a directory and then click on index.htm

Another question:
Ive just bid on a shift light on Ebay, but now i see that ive bid on just the light - not the complete package.
What do i acktually need to make this work?
I think i need a shift light cause its not very smart to be looking down on the panel when im flying like a rocket on narrow roads here in norway....

I know my gear indicator circuit will work for the older A1 A2 B1 and B2 16 bit ECUs but I don't remember if the newer 32 bit ecus went to a single wire gear sensor. You might check that first if you have a newer 12
