oil starvation???? one possibility
I just picked up my bike after a motor upgrade/trans tweak. In discussing the details of what he had done I asked about potential causes of oil starvation to the crank (prompted by one o' you guys).
He said, oh yeah, I meant to tell you that your oil pick up screen was nearly plugged with small fibers, prob from the clutch, but maybe also from rags used during the MANY clutch change outs.
I got lucky doing the upgrade when I did and all my internals showed NO evidence of oil starvation, but from now on I will drop the oil pan every 3-4 clutches just to be sure.
Hey, probably none of you have this situation, but I just thought I'd pass it on.

I have done an inspection of the oil pick up after doing the first 100mi on the 1270. Not too much in there to worry about, but some debris was evident. (Engine had @ 14,500 mi on it at the time)

OK I have to ask this. Have wondered for a few months now. "Psycho1122", is the 1122 your patient number in the asylum?
