The RWHP for the 14 is pathetic. What's big K thinking anyway?

Hard to beat the looks of the 12, and even harder to get excited about the 14.

My problem exactly! As Joren said, If Kawasaki was going to do Ugly, they should have had the balls to do it first! (Specially when top speed was not limited!) They had this bike on the drawing boards as seen in the SIlver Book right down to the Ferrari side ribs! THEN I would have bought it and lived with it, but having a Beautiful bike has now ruined that!

Didn't Kawasaki add another catalytic converter on the 14's exhaust system, adding weight and obviously hurting hp?
I wonder how both bikes would perform with the standard bolt-on's like Full Exhaust, Air filter, lowered, pc3usb and a custom tune.
With all the emissions restrictions, cost restrictions, and compromises made at the factory... it's not a true comparison of both bikes unless you've seen their response to optimizing modifications as mentioned above.
That being said, I do agree.... the ZX-12R is a much sharper looking bike. Not quite a 1000, but not quite a sport-touring, sort of a mix between a ZX-10R and a ZX-14, a Hybrid almost.

at atco ama race one of the brock guys said one will get more hp cc vs cc on a 12 than a 14.
did i say the kaw funney bike did not have the front tire rotating at all till his 6.10 pass was complete and he left off the gas?
the fuel bike ran a 5.84 and his front hit the track about the 900 to 1000 ft mark before secont lifted it to the end at 230 something i think.

I LOVE my 12! The looks have me spoiled. I'm spending beau coup hours polishing out the wheels and swing arm this winter. It's an 02 with 10,500 old fart miles. She is gorgeous! Also doing a valve clearance check and if they need adjusting, thinking about slotted cam sprockets and adjusting to 105/103. Next winter will be a 1270 or 1290 kit and possible custom paint. Ran from Knoxville TN to Grand Rapids MI in one day last June, so I know she loves me too.
