hello new member
hello folks, new here though ive been on the zx12r.org for a while, my ride is a 2005 candy blue zx12r with an akra full sys and a K&n filter and a 190/55 rear tyre
would like to start of my first post with a couple of q's
1) a final word on derestricting the 04/05 models? till now i havnt read of any confirmed results apart from one (maybe it was a tailwind)
2)whats the 0-186 mph acceleration time of a zx-12r (sorry but high 170's is all i ever saw)
3) i know the famous 17t sprocket mod but i really cannot get my hands on one, but rear sprockets r within reach,
the 17 toother is like 2 more teeth at the rear? would that allow me to maintain a top speed of 170mph, wouldnt wana stay neck and neck with a 600 at top end
appreciate your feedback

welcome. i started over there too, but im mainly on here now.
use the g pack. its pretty popular with guys in the UK that do the flyers(1.5 mile runs)there was a dyno sheet floating around on here and "over there" that showed a guy breaking the 186 with one.
acceleration. really depends on mods and driver and conditions
ask around in the 14 zone for a 17 tooth sprocket. their stock 17 is just what you want. most of the racers switch to a 16. im running a 17 from a 14

welcome to the board. You can order 17t front sprockets all day off the web. and they range from $25-$35.
As far as derestricting your 12...I have no clue, my 12 is set up to sport tour, so top speed isnt a big thing for me, I have my Zx10R if I wanna go fast and I do it at the track.
Good luck, and again, welcome to the site.

Don't know about 186 but at Maxton it takes about 25 seconds from a standing start to 200mph on my 12.
