I did my part to help the economy. Well I Just picked up my 2001 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4x4 today. I was putt'in around in a 1993 Ford pickup and decided that with the deals they were making I just had to have a new one. I paid $24,499 for a $31,000 truck. And I got a check for $1,400 when I took delivery to cover the very slight hail damage on the truck, so that will take care of most of my sales tax. The dents are so small no one notices them, and I think most will pop back out in the hot sun next summer.
In Missouri we have to pay sales tax within 30 days of the purchase. I just heard that they are considering waiving the sales tax on new car / truck purchases, I hope I can get in on that as well, if not I still think I did OK.
Anyone else jump on a new car deal?
I have not been able to ride at all in the last few weeks due to bad weather or honey do's. Tomorrow it will be 65 and sunny.......hope to you on the road no matter what you ride !!!!!!

Alan,
Sorry I've not gotten back to you in so long about riding but between work and trying to finish up construction outside, it's been hell.
I'd love to have been able to do it this weekend, but bike is in shop haveing gear position sensor replaced along with a few other little things done.
I am/have been waiting on my new truck to come in. Ordered the seconde week of Sept. 2002 Ford SuperCrew FX4 4x4 Lariat. Was told Wednesday that it should be here the week of the 12-16th.
Getting tired of waiting !!!!
I'm going to check into that sales tax thing you were talking about. Where did you hear that from?

Did you get 0% interest with that good price? Just curious. I've been window shopping myself but sticker shock kinda scared me away.

I did my part for the economy. Bought a house. Now if I could only sell the other two. Making three mortgage payments sux. It could cut into my winter mods.

Dent removal... SPEEDCRAVER...There's a guy around here who does dent removal without having to repaint. He taps the dents out from the back using a selection of small hammers and lights to see the dents. He did about 6 small dents for me on a black shiney car I used to own. I couldn't even tell where the dents were when he was finished. Just a thought. -ZXtra

SWFT, ZXtra, Eric00zx12R, Krexken Damn SWFT that is the same truck, even the same exact color! The only difference is I have the FASTER green 12-R! :P
ZXtra, The hail damage is so slight it is hardly noticable. If I do see a few that need to be removed I will take it to a paintless dent removal place. We had a huge hail storm last April. the paintless dent removal guys have been very busy. Many cars were totalled and almose everyone in the area has a new roof on their house. We are talking the BIG HAIL that time. Thanks for the advice.
Eric, You have mail! Keep in touch we will go riding someday, even if we have to wait 'till spring.
Krexken, Dodge was not offering 0% financing but they discount an amount that would be saving you the same amount of money as if you did. I financed through the credit union I belong to and it was a very low rate. All of the dealers are having some kind of special sales right now. I was amased at how many people were trading in cars on new ones. I have never seen the dealerships selling so many cars. there should be some great deals on used cars because the dealers have so many. The used trucks seemed to have an average os 33000 miles on them and the dealers still wanted $23,000 for them, so I bought a new truck for just a little more. I had a 98 Durango that my payments were $640.00 per month, my new truck payments are less than $400.00
