Sounds good to me.....

Abxolutely!! The oil level drops since it is doing its job in the motor. After you turn it off, then it drains down to show you the correct level. Sounds like yours is fine.

Exactly 3 quarts of oil when changing oil and replacing the filter will always give the perfect amount.

3 quarts.....ONLY if you want more power at the drag strip. I would use more if you like long wheelies. To be safe, I use 3 and a half in my own bike.

My question is where do you suppose the oil goes when the engine is running? Is it magic that it comes back?

3 qts. when changing the oil and the filter.

If I recall correctly Mr. Meyer says these engines have at least 2 qts. up in the head while the engine is running. As I do wheelies once & awhile, I run it at the top line. I'll give up a couple ponies to be safe with my engine...

I don't have any problem with your logic. Especially if you carry long wheelies and run her out to the upper end of the revs.

I love my Mille R and it's dry sump. It gets oils no matter what!
