Poll Question:
12R Jumper cable
After reading about some that have had "battery problems", I was wondering how many of you have the "jumper cable" attached to your batteries? The A&P sheet says not to attach it, but to me, that seems rather silly. After all, what good is it if you have to take everything apart to attach it for a jump? I've also heard that some just leave the top bolt of the battery cover off, so that way they would not have to remove the tank cover to get the battery cover off.

We talked about this before, I have always had some sort of jumper wire on my bikes. Way easier than taking the whole damn thing apart just for a jump!
In the past I have had to make a jumper cable, It's good to see the 12 has one...and yes mine is connected and ready for the unexpected dead battery. no problems with it connected so far.

Mine is attached and has always been attached. Thank goodness to becasue on the second round of the TXSHOOYOUT it came in real handy!

hehe, I use an Interstate Battery so I do not need the Jumper Cable, besides it weighs to much for drag racing.

I made a set of jumper cables for my 82 Honda CB900F way back....used 2 pieces of 10 gauge wire (30 amps max) with alligator clips on it. It's more than adequate to start a bike. I actually use it for my 89 Honda Civic from time to time. Very compact and easy to carry.

What real purpose is the jumper cable? Why bother hooking to it when the soleniod is directly below it. Just turn on the key, and touch the positive cable from the "helper" battery to the solenoid post. The engine will spin over . Saves all the messing with that cable Kawi put on and says don't use! How in the heck can you hook up the "jumper cable", start the bike, remove the cable then ride the bike? And they do state not to leave the cable hooked up. Bogus stuff for sure!
