ARE DAMPERS ..
worth the money we pay for them,, on the street what are we looking to get versus what we get?

12s don't inherently need them, per se. I know guys who rock 140 mph wheelies and don't have dampers on their 12s.
Drag racing ... may be a good idea but certainly not needed!
Land speed racing....while not necessarily needed, most mandate it.
Stunting: Probably a good idea.
Twisties: Not needed but helpful for the "you never know what is around the corner" moments where maybe your front tire temporarily loses contact with the ground only for you to do the wrong and upset the bike.
Highway roll-ons. NOT NEEDED!

ive been watching a few videos,, one was with a 12,busa,and blackbird,, these guys were sick (like all of us) and on a couple of occasions the 12 landed wobbly,, enough to were i nabbed a damper (minus the hardware) specifically for landing,,and take offs that hover and inch or two off the ground.. just curious how others felt,, i cant speak about others but i do notice that there are some who dont wheelie and want to learn,, and some that are scared of the power of these bikes and are happy to go fast on the turns or straights,, myself there was a point in time that i told everyone who even contemplated getting a bike,, to not get it unless you were going to wheelie,, ive flipped before but that was going into 3rd on a CBX back in the 80s when i was in my 20s,, once i mastered the all mighty wheelie i was like a whole new world,, and now with this monster they call ZX12r,, well i dont have to tell you guys,, you live it everyday just like me!

I never had one until the Rules mandated it for Maxton! Looking at Maxton with 1 to 2 inch high pavement differences, Ruts and then the time that Randall hit a Pot Hole which threw the Bike a foot or so into the Air at close to 200 MPH!!!! He landedand smashed the exhaust bent the wheels tore off the Bottom of the fairing And never lost Control! That time a Damper was truly needed! Sort of like Insurance, you never need it until you need it! Then if you have it fine and if you do not have it Deep Do do

I disagree 110% it is a MUST HAVE if you are getting after it ever...
I can not believe they dont come with them stock...
Dragracing, Needed MOST!!!
LSR, needed!
Stunting, probably not because your going to crash anyway!
I think it is as important as a helmet, while you dont need one most of the time. if you dont have one when you need one your screwed!

I won't own another bike without one.
I've got a SCOTTS damper on my ZX-12R and when set-up properly, it does eliminate most instability you'll ever encounter.
Now I know why the SCOTTS damper only comes in the color "GOLD".

thats what ive been gathering,, was gonna sell the damper i picked up off craigslist locally,, but now i have shipheety pricing a bracket for the install.. gonna keep her now.. thanx for the input..

just think of it as cheap insurance, and buy one....the one time you NEED it, you will be glad you had it.
I run Scotts dampers on everything...except my Nomad...
