Giving up after 6 years

I may take some heat for this but after 6 years of trying to make my 12 go fast, I am giving up on her and parting her out. I achieved the goal of going fast, but never reliably fast. I have averaged 1 catastrophic engine failure per year while my friends on brand "S" coninue to beat on their machines at the track every weekend. I've only gotten to maxton 4 times because of regular engine problems. I will be listing my 12R race parts in the for sale section, and in ebay for those that can benefit from my delima, or PM me for info. Good luck to all.

8.8s @ 165 mph at New England Dragway. 272 HP on Spray.

A SAD Sad Day! We all understand! Kawasaki who used to be the Chevy of Motorcycles is now the FOrd and Suzuki is the Chevy! Honda has always been the MopPar! Big Speed but Bigger expense!

No, the shelf filled with smashed pistons and cylinder heads is impressive. We should have a photo contest for best grenaded heads.

What was the best run at Maxton with the 272 rwhp?

NOS,
You and I could probably have a good contest on smashed parts and effort. As said before, "I feel your pain". I got to the same point you did about a year ago.

Yep, I hear you fellas. I think my 12 will only have one more nos run in it this March 2008
whether I make 200mph or not. It will be retired to full time street duty for at least a good
10 years.

I hear ya. There comes a time when you realize defeat or just flat freaking tired of repairs/costs. Now that is nasty.

I never had any problems with the ZX12 but we only went to very "safe" modifications. 1270/50 hp dry shot with the potential to go 8.90's. After looking at these picks, I am glad we did not push it further.

my vote is for Osti33...

But yours is pretty dang chewed up also!!!

lucky or what ever but I have always caught mine before the "big" damage... I always feel the bearing spin, and the one time I had a valve issue it just bent and stuck open, did not break off...
