Hi,
That's i tried to explain to you in the thread "12r idle"
y2k...
The EcU compensate with a kn filter or tmh filter, i tried before install the akro, no problem with idle and the bike accelerate stronger... reason the captors...intake pressure...atmospheric pressure...water temp sensor
but with an aftermarket, no captor on the pipe, how ecu can detects it...??? it can't but with an O2 Sensor on, it could...that's the engineer at akro factory explains to me..
when i play with the tps, i saw many people (with knowledge & other without) who said me my bike is too rich... even at 1.098 VDC..
i don't even tell you with 1.15 VDC set..
for sure, the bike runs great but i wonder if you test a/f ratio, you'll be afraid how richest, the beast is...

Laref, The ECU is limited as to how much it can compensate.
It has no way of reading A/F ratios. You have to rely on the algarythems(sp) written by the factory.
They were written for the stock exhaust and induction components as well as stock cam timing. Cam timing plays a bigger role than most people think on the relationship of reversion and A/F ratios. At one particular rpm and throttle position the fuel is being blown back out of the stacks causing what some tuners call a "double" charge. Cam timing has a huge role in this reversion. If you dont ride in this range then you dont care.
With the inspection covers removed and a timeable strobe light its amaizing what you can see. Gee I better shut up.

Muzzy pipe K@N's ignition pick up mod. Why is it soooo low. It was 153 stock, so it picked up 13 ponies which is good. But I was looking for at least 170 horsepower.

Cam timing. You could expect a 6-10 hp pick-up with cam gears because of poor cam timing I'd say.

Camshaft timing
So.... what are the magic numbers for lobe centers on a ZX-12R with pipe, K&Ns and PCIII(r)?? Something that will retain most of the midrange power (not necessarily all of it!) and give the best power from 7,000-7,500 RPM on up to the rev-limiter. I NEED to know!
Oh, and what are the factory specs for cam timing? Is that info listed in the service manual? [Guess I could just look at the fuckin' manual, huh??]

104/102 is stock.
102.5/101 is where my bike was stock and it made 181/101 hp/tq.
I went with 105/100 and its weaker everywhere except above 10,600. So for a top speed run 105/100 is ok.
The cranking compression is down with 105/100 so naturally torque is down.
I'd say for the street and dragracing keep the numbers no more than two apart. Like 105/103.
The software that I have thinks 105/104 would be best.

That's excellent iboom, great numbers......Tell me about your experience with the Muzzy clutch I'm planning to install one myself. I'm takin this baby to the strip next summer, it just looks like too much fun. If I can't turn a 9.50, I swear I'll ride home with my dick hanging out!
