XX figure for top speed seems low. Are any of these figures worth much? I haven't read Cycle World in two years now because of their less than reliable testing.

You wont read anything of any value in Cycle World. Its HotRod for bikes. And the same age group that they give it away to for $6 a year.
Cycle News, now... thats palateable.

The XX and the ZZR are similar in performance, with a equal balance sport & touring. The ZZR is more sport then the XX, pumping out 145RWHP. The XX should not be compared to the 12 or Busa (The 12 & busa are more sport then touring). The ST & FJR are more touring then sport.

The Cycle World magazine issue that did that same shootout comparison (a couple months ago) posted different numbers. The 12 beat the Busa in Rear Wheel Horsepower and Top Speed (by 2mph). But the Busa beat the 12 in Torque and the quarter mile (by only a tenth of a second though).

I have a copy of the article, for when that article went to print, it was the reason that told me to quit waiting and get my 12. All models were 2002's. I can copy that article for anyone who wants to read it.

I question those numbers that you posted. Can you copy that article and email it to me please?

Beans - Sure, tho I would recommend subscribing to the magazine. They are great people, and work their asses off to put out a weekly rag.

I tried to pull up an online version of it, but couldn't. They list it in the table of contents, but it's not clickable. Sure would make a nice piece of bragging material.

Thanks for the heads up, Swft

ZZR 1200

Cycle Canada just did a dyno test on the ZZR1200, and it showed 136 RWHP, Cycle Canada is not the first magazine to post this 136 RWHP result, but it is the second magazine to post 136 RWHP for the ZZR1200. So two mags have it at 136 RWHP, and one mag had it at 145 RWHP, thats a big difference wonder who's right?. oh ya they also said torque was at 82 ft lbs in Cycle Canada ...
