I got mine a couple days ago. I wouldn't trust my dealer to do even something that simple. I replaced my stems with aftermarket chrome ones when I polished my wheels. So it doesn't matter to me anyway.

Warning and Recall notice!!
Here is some of the notice...Freaking scanner problems!!
ZX-12R TIRE VALVE LOCK NUT CRACKING
"Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exits in 2000 and 2001 model ZX12R (ZX1200-A1/L, A2/L) motorcycles. On eligible units, under certian environmental conditions, the tire valve lock nut on the front and rear wheels can crack from a combination of stress and corrosion. Because the units use tubeless tires, cracking of the lock nut can lead to a reduction of tire pressure. Riding with incorrect tire pressure could adversely affect handling and performance of the vehicle and create a risk of accident resulting in injury or dealth.
.......the correction will consist of replacement of the tire valva lock nuts, and the actual repair should take the dealer about 15 minutes to complete...........
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are taking this action in the interest of your safety and your continued satisfaction with your Kawasaki motorcycle.
Sincerely,
Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A.

15 min to complete??? don't the tires have to come off in order to get to the stem nuts?
or do they come off from the outside of the rim?

I gave my nuts a good going over yesterday!
Then I took a shower and rode a couple hundred miles in the great fall weather we are having. My stem(s) and nuts look fine, but I will get the recall done ASAP.

I lucked out on this one. My rims are off the bike being painted and retired.
The nuts are visible on the outside of the rim. -ZXtra

Hey all,
I took my ZX12 in to have the first service done and get a couple of the other recalls done this weekend and they said that the numbers on my bike didn't fall into the recall numbers. I've never heard of this happening. Anyone else had any other experience with this?
You'd think that if the bike is a 2001 and a recall for 2001's was issued, that it would apply to all 2001's. Any help on this would be appreciated. I'm not much of a mechanic at all...

Got mine last Saturday
Exactly one week after I got my notice on the tank and sending unit! KMC never ceases to make me laugh, since I have gone through THREE tanks (1 leaking/2 damaged in shipping - still waiting for #4) and had the sending unit replaced almost a year ago!
