12R A1 injectors

I read somewhere, but I can't find it now, that the A1 (Y2K) model 12 has 330cc injectors. When we dyno'd my 1270 motor to 200 rwhp it was on 90-92% duty cycle so I want to upgrade a bit. I no longer have the 1270 motor having launched a rod through the front of the cases at the top end of the strip. I am now running a stock motor with Carrillos and forged pistons with a 50 shot and want to go for a bit more gas next season thats why I need the standard injector spec. In the manual it just says Denso but no capacity. Went 9.08/155 at the weekend but want to dip into the eights! Keith

Muzzy high output pump. Ran 207.9 recently hitting gas in 4th gear. One and a half mile run. Keith

I would keep the stock injectors and go with the muzzy pump...

Hi Supra - thats the kit in the bike now but it goes lean if I go up to a 60 shot and I want to run 80 - 100 shot.

Maybe check fuel pressure just to make sure.

If you have stock pistons be careful over a 70 shot. Also if you have stock valves and springs maybe change them out as well.

On my A1 w/muzzy fuel pump and a 40 shot, duty cycle peaks at 80% right before the limiter, over and over.

Off the top of my head here at work I think around 215-230CC, just depending. There was a thread a little bit back on injector cleaning and flow testing. Mine were on the low side while Entropy's and a couple others were on the higher. RC did the cleaning and flow test. I think around a hundred bucks or so for a set. If you can not find it or no one answers, I'll look it up when I get home.

I think the newer bikes had larger injectors, but I do not think they dropped in to easy on the 00-01 bikes. Entropy may still have a set for sale.

Gary got most of it right

Y2K injectors
"June 2005: received '00 injectors back from RC Engineering:
before/after cleaning
325 / 330
311 / 329
325 / 331
320 / 330"

interestingly, when i had the SAME injectors cleaned again
Nov 2006: received '00 injectors back from RC:
before/after cleaning
331 / 336
311 / 334
328 / 335
319 / 335

when i installed the RC370's
- Duty cycle at 11,000 dropped to 78-80% (RC370's) from 88-90% (OEM inj)

I gotta laugh at myself and my anal retentive record keeping LOL

Thanks guys, that was the answer(s) I was looking for. Entropy, did the 370's go in without much modding, if so who made them? Good to hear from you, Keith (71 next week and still doing PB's year on year)

keith,
RC Engineering 370's

It is a pretty close fit between the electrical connection on the injector and the airbox, but doable.

I had a small bit of lathe work done on the injectors, but alternatively you could mod the electrical connector. very doable.

BTW i do have a brand new set of the 04-05 injectors for sale. They don't easily fit Y2K
