nuff said Jason, bygones.

As far as the pegs...I'm 6'4" 220. I also came from a ZX-11, well two of them actually, a 93'C and a 95'D and once on the 12 I realized the wrist pain and leg shortage. One of the 1st things I did was get a set of aftermarket footpegs from Protek. www.protekk.com these are aluminum race pegs that not only look great but because they do not have the rubber piece effectively lower the footpegs about 1/2 inch. I noticed a difference. It was well worth the $52 delivered and the guys at Protek are excellent. Give em a call. Here is a pic of mine, well it's not a great close up of the peg but if you look at this pic of my 12 you can kinda see the peg.

Oh yeah.....

Looks like a couple of Bigtime Players in that first pic.

Jason,
Otis is right about the pegs. I've got a set on my bike as well, and it was deinitely a noticable difference. I'll see if I have any pics.

Jason, you need to check over at LaBusas and search for topics by Vincent Hill. He built his own triple clamp/handle bar combinations until Spencer came out with the Billet Triple Clamps. After VH bought the Spencer piece, he then wrote extensively on what worked best for him. I think he also messed with other variables of the bike to make it more comfortable for him and his wife.

My Corbin seemed to put me lower on the bike, but you can always try to mod you factory seat yourself.

If I am not mistaken, RedElk uses some pegs from his ZX-7. There has to be some set-up that will change "your" geometry without changing the way the bike responds.

asshole, why dont you watch your tone before someone shoves your teeth down your throat. you mentioned loewring the bike, i mentioned lowering the pegs

Oh I love this crap. I try to help someone, then I try to simply point out they haven't read my responses closely enough ("repeating" comment about rearset footpeg "holes"), & I get insulted & threatened? Oh brother...you know sometimes when I'm reading the web one of my young children may be on my lap. Thank you for giving my kid a new word....proud of yourself Jason?

Sometimes this web stuff seems like a waste of time; & when I get that kind of response (from the person I'm attempting to help) -I'm absoulutely sure of it.

I leave you all with this: I give up. Thank you everyone for your support. However just look at the title of this thread to realize my point. Just the title shows a total lack of respect for all of us who have been here for awhile. I sadly remind folks that may be going through Vail, CO to keep your VCR's handy while chanting "Rodney King, Rodney King...."

I now go away, & will never attempt to help anyone again. It's just not worth it....

Here you go.....

Not the best pic in the world. I zoomed in on a pic of the bike and then cut the peg out. You should be able to tell that it is slash cut to give you a little more clearance. I really like them.

Oh yeah,....Otis you can kiss my ass BOY!!!! Only sniffin' going on around here is done by YOU. Otis = "King of the Glue Sniffers". If it ain't glue it's gas. That's the whole reason he wiped out on the dirtbike. A few minutes prior to the ride he took the gas cap off and took a few "pulls" to clear his sinuses then WHAMO!!!! He was stoned for sure. I hate to say it Otis, but huffin' gas ain't as cool now as it was when you were doing it in high school.

Dave, hold up a minute. Don't let one fella run you off. You know we all appreciate your help on any matter at any time. Jason may be 18 or something and has not yet learned tact or respect. Let it go and just ignore his posts. You're too valuable in this place as I'm sure everyone will agree.

And to you Ninjapuke, some day yo umay realize the benefits of sniffin gas, and while that may have been the reason for crashing in the dirt it's also the reason I'm in MENSA!

Whoa Dave.....

Dave don't bail on us man!!! You've been a key player here since the beginning, it wouldn't be the same without you. I totally see your frustration though. Maybe a good brisk ride would do you some good.

EastBayDave,

Don't for one second think that this one person in any way represents what the rest of us newbies think...not for one friggin' second. This guy has been under my skin from the very beginning, and I'm sure many others as well. Go back and look at some of his old posts and you'll see nothing but "me me me me me...you guys owe me the world, and I want it all now....me me me me me!" He has contributed NOTHING of value to this site, other than giving us a bit of easily-targeted flamebait. Check out this thread as an example.

In fact, more than once I've wondered if he even has a 12, or he's just some poor troll with nothing better to do with his time. We have all gone out of our way to answer his childish posts and half-formed rantings, and to think that he might screw it up so that I might not get assistance from you (EastBayDave) or another member in the future just pisses me off.

Either way, here's one "newbie" to this site who's telling Jason370 to either chill out and be respectful, or take a friggin hike.

Tim

Heli Bars that work!!

Call Heli Bar company and ask for heir head engineer. Tell them that you want the custom version for the 12r. They are 2-1/2 higher than the producion version that didn't work for me either. They will require you to sign an affadavit that they assume no responsibility for the higher version. You WILL need extended front brake lines to make the upgrade. Mine work great, and are very comfortable. They are the same price as their catalogued version.

Woah, wait a minute! They make a higher version?

Did they charge you for the exchange? (I assume at least shipping?)

Do they clear the fairing/tank lock to lock?

How much longer did you have to go on the brake line?
