clutch problems

I'm having a problem with my clutch. Its a muzzy kit with 10 steels and 11 fibers. It also has the muzzy clutch basket. My problem is no matter how the clutch cable is adjusted once the clutch handle is pulled to the bar the bike moves forward.

Bike was running fine until the addition of a new shift detent, new heavy duty shift shafts, and shift star.

any thoughts would be appreciated...........

ride it around a little, sometimes they are just sticky when you put them in brand new... sorry maybe I misunderstood, but that would be for brand new fibers...

that or you have something new you put in, done incorrectly...
just check it again, or first open your oil fill and make sure that when you pull the clutch cable that the pressure plate is coming up off of the fibers...

DId you install the Factory pro shift star? It is made of SHIT metal, take it out.......

You should see the one I took out.........

Double check your install after checking what MM said.

Good luck.
BTW< Brocks shafts, excellent., new detent, good, with roller bearing, great, but if you used the FP shift start, pro star, whatever , that thing is crap, and will cause you trouble down the road........

Could be a stretched cable or your stack height is too tall.
Make sure the chatter spring is removed from inside the hub/basket too

Turboblew on the stack heighth are you suggesting maybe once less steel or one less fiber or are there different thicknesses available in steels and fibers?

Nox I remember some of your earlier comments the shift shafts are from schnitz and the other items are from brock.

I have helibars on the bike so it came with a brand new cable and it was just installed in the last few month's. I will have my mechanic double check anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions!

As soon as this bike is fixed its going down the road, my new replacement will be a turbo zx14!!!!

It depends on where your clutch hat sits. If its past the fingers... its too tall. If its recessed too far in the basket... you dont have enough stack height.

Couple of simple things to check from our experiences.

-Stack hieght first.

- If the stack isn't new, make sure all steels are flat. Piece of glass and fealer gauges. If it is new, make sure fibres are oil soaked before putting in.

- If the clutch cable is OK, set free play on the lever to around 5mm gap. Gap is between the lever end where the cable goes in and the cluitch bracket. If the bike still moves, it's in the cltuch settings.

- Check that the actuator arm is OK. No damage or marks on the slot that grabs the puller rod. If it's damaged, both will need to be replaced.

- Also, This can happen if you have bulk wieght on the lockup to. Like six arms with bolts on each.
