COPS with "unmarked" plates

Here in Washinton State I've noticed unmarked cop cars with and without tax exempt plates. The reason I bring this up is because it used to be just another way to verify the guy up ahead might be the law if the plate was marked exempt or if WSP appeared on the plate etc etc. Now it appears that some of these cops are driving personally owned vehicles to come out and nab us in.
Anyone else noticed the "unmarked" plates on cop cars?

You'd be surprised how many unmarked police cars run "soft" or regular plates.

...quite a few in California...more than a few...but they can't conduct a stop...only fully marked units...so they usually call for one if a stop is needed...but...they can be eyes and ears...they're everywhere with radios, hand held or installed in the car...makes you wonder, huh?...even 'worse' are spiteful people with cellphones...those are the ones you should be on the lookout for

I have instructed my wife and daughter that they should never pull over for an unmarked car and that goes double for one with everyday plates. Drive to the police station or the state police headquarter, but do not stop! That is how all drivers should react to unmarked cars with private plates. Far too often do I see or hear of "creeps" self appointed "police" pulling over drivers for any number of reasons, and none of them are legal.

This is the kind of stuff that keeps me happy roadracing and dragracing my 12s, and driving the grocery getter on the streets. My license doesn't feel the pain, the man doesn't hassle me, and I keep the speed on the track. I've pretty much given up riding on the street, up here in WA, the State Gestapo is anything but a Patrol. Unless your definition of Patrol is hiding in the bushes...The Border Patrol has a more visible presence in Washington State!

Hey man, they are just doing their job as tax collectors. Oops, I forgot they are susposed to be police officer charged with protecting us. Yeah right!

In a few years they will merely pull you over and plug into your bike or car let it tell them about everything you have done wrong and then write you a ticket. They could do this at home but their union wouldn't let that happen.

What was once a just and noble proffesion is as far from that as possible. There is more honor among thieves.

Hey, can you give me a hand loading the bike on the trailer tomorrow? I'm going to get it over to Mike's by Wednesday, and without it running, it'll be a bear to load by myself.

Back here in WA...just got back from a good 250mile long ride through the back roads of the state...passed the man going 145+ on a nice straightaway...cop was coming at me from the other lane, flashed his lights and sirens, I of course slowed down, but the cop just kept driving by didnt even turn around.

Later, another cop we saw radioing us in after we passed at him going who knows how fast. But I still hate the man even though we were lucky today.

Too bad I cant find a road long enough to get me past 170 on the speedo, so I might just have to take it to the Interstate and hope no state patrol are out there.

Try SRP (Spokane Raceway Park) during a trackday. Hey, you won't even get a ticket!

In these parts we let the "regular" police force work for the park district on their off time. Since the park only has one official car, they often effect traffic stops for speed enforcement using a shabby old pickup truck. Works like a champ since nobody suspects that old junker holds a LEO, until the cherry on the dash lights up. Have a couple bicycle boys in blue also. They can cut across the grass and sneak up on you pretty quick. Just don't pay to speed in our parks.

Again, it's all about the money.

They just want the money. That way, they can get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger until they are in every facet of our lives telling us how to live.

What happens when we run out of money? Friggin government is the largest employer we have in the states. Kinda sounds like 60's, 70's, and 80's era Russia. Look at them now.
