damn - how do I get this clip-on off???
I'm trying to get my right-side clip-on off to repair damage from the slide and I can't get it off!
I don't believe the toolkit has an allen-head big enough to fit into the 'inner' (gauge area) end of the bar. I tried one from a socket set, but it didn't fit quite right.
Am I trying to get it off correctly?? Is that inner allen-head the way that the clip-on is held in place?
Is there a trick I'm missing????
Thanks for any tips!!

If my memory is serving me correctly, it sounds like you're doing the clamp at the fork? (assuming there was a clamp from the bar-end to the fork tube)
I've been trying to get the allen-head out of the actual end of the Clip-On.
Maybe I'm going about this all wrong? (which is why I'm here in the first place!!! )

Just take correct size allen head tool and open it.
The bolt is very tight but will open.

Here's a tip for those pesky allen bolts that are loctited in dangerous areas, heat the wrench nearly red hot before inserting it into the bolt, let it sit in the bolt a minute or so for the heat to transfer and out she should come.

Allen Bolts
I put Heli Bars on my 00 superfast GREEN and the allen bolts where a SOB#@!@* to get out. The trick is to get an impact driver with the proper size allen attached. I forget the size but it can be found.
The major problem is that the boys at the factory must have been having a locktite party cause those threads have tons of it on them!
You could also take the top triple off and have a shop try to get the bolts out just be carefull they have some Gorillas working back there.

i managed to get mine off with a regular allen key. just had to really lean into it, and had to hold the pressure for a few seconds before the bolt finally gave. lost my knuckles once it give give of course, so wear gloves!
