12.8 to 13.1 is where we usually put a bike like that. Make sure the bike is at normal run temp when tuning.
Let us know how you go!!

yep, 13.1 might give a lil better dyno hp, but the 1/4 mi likes 12.8-ish better.
And wolf ain't kidding about getting the motor completely up to operating temp before making pulls. If your dyno guy doesn't have an infrared temp gun, he should get one. Just getting the temp gauge to 9pm isn't sufficient. Let the motor get fully heat soaked.

Also, don't allow tuner to let the engine get TOO warm.
We have seen the ECU "dump" fuel when exceeding 230+ deg. Looks like there is a built in protection algorithm.
The tuner should do the high rpm tuning first.

read Brocks diary for the zx14 good stuff on a/f ratio..
what makes more on the dyno doesn't necessarily get you down the road faster.. Error on the side of 12.8 to 1

Man 0 Man no break there! Did you speak to him about a full chart print out in 500 RPM increments!
I also agree about the A/F 13.1 to 13.3 for Max power but for max torque 12.6 to 12.8
Only a ZRX likes 13.3 to 13.6 A/F for Power

VH,
what you talking about power & Tq???
pww = tq thru that 5250 conversion = same thing.
IME, lean(13.1-.2) = higher dyno pwr AND tq
a bit richer (12.6-12.8) = more mph at 1/4 mi.
just my experience

When I am doing some of the runs on the Dyno, I have seen where when I ran it a little richer the HP went down a little but the Torque went up a little. Remember these are PEAK Numbers and maybe where the PEAK Torque was higher the HP "Right There" may have been higher also.
Plus the readings are just behind the real world numbers and and sometimes richer readings on the dyno's That are under smaller loads CHANGE When a Higher load is applied and the A/F will go Leaner!

entropy is correct I believe.. richer air/fuel compensates for ram air better..

im glad you brought that up, he should actually maximize the map to 250 increments to tune.....not 500 correct?? looks like im going to get him to tune the a/f ratio to 12.8, if i can im going to see if he'll do some 3k to 6k 100% throttle and richen up the top end a bit.
