Triple Clamp Spacing

Hello, I'm working on a project that requires making a set of triple clamps. Right now I really need to know what the center-to-center spacing is for a ZX12. Whatever years used USD forks, I'm assuming they all have the same CTC spacing. Inches, mm's it doesn't matter.

A friend has made a few sets of triples for Hyabusa drag bikes. Although fork diameter's are different (ZX12's are about .080 larger) IF the CTC spacings are the same. He can enlarge the holes and have them done this week. Depending....

Center-to-center meaning from the center of left fork, across to the center of the right fork. A Hyabusa measures 8.425

Thanks,

Ryan

Thank you for getting back with me. I actually just returned from the race track, figured someone out there might know. One person said the 12's fork spacing was around 8 7/16 which would be 8.4375. The 'busa spacing is 8.425. So it's close if that figure is right. I find it a little hard to believe "7/16" as most figures are metric.

Before I call the guy and have him offset bore these clamps. I would feel better knowing for certain. I posted on dragbike.com's ZX12 section. I'm not sure how many times a guy can be misunderstood no matter how descriptive the question....

I understand this is a difficult question. Not in the respect of getting the number but what is required in the precision tool department. All I have is a digital 6" caliper. It will take at least a 10" caliper to accurately measure this. So this isn't an easy question and I wasn't expecting a quick reply. Actually tonight I was refered to a fabrication shop called "Smithers" but no luck finding it on-line.

I measured my triple center spacing and mine show 8.440 after being in the Texas sun for
a couple of hours, but after cooling 20 deg. the center to center is .020 smaller, which
would lead me to believe that anywhere in the ballpark of 8.430 +/- .010 would be sufficient

In Kansas on this end. Between rains...it's in the mid 90's. I get that way every once in a while, good to get away from Kansas as often as possible.

Thank you for taking time to measure this for me. Have to keep this project moving, been seven years and counting. Can't get things done working second shift. Ten years on that shift is long enough.... Anyway, I'll be back here looking for a few parts. Like fender & hardware.

Thank you again.
