Blue ' 02 ZX12R.. rare color?
My local dealer told me blue is rare... There seems to be a lot of blue '02s around here... Anyone know if it's b.s.?
Thanks for input.

Dunno if it's a rare color, but I wouldn't pay a premium for a given color..unless I HAD to have it. I did a search in New England, and there are no dealers showing any 2K2 12s in blue in my six state area...for what its worth...*shrugs* haven't seen any numbers as to production.
I once bought a leftover KZ-550 in a multi-hued silver..I have never seen another one..and I certainly didn't pay a 'paint premium'.

Should mention it was the same price as other colors but was only one instock in march. I have about 1700 mi. so far and it's still major fun....

Seems like the Candy Blue is a limited color...
The dealers around my area have been getting one Candy Blue... Unless they ask for another!!!

My dealer where I got my blue one said that Kawasaki only realesed 5 VIN's that were blue per state. Then they told me 2 of the VIN's from the Conneticut area already had salvage titles on them.
I paid full MSRP though because it was blue, they wouldnt come down at all.
Just hit 170mph on the speedo yesterday...gotta love it!

I've heard it called a late release color. It's not shown in any ad material and some dealers (DFM in March) didn't know it was coming.
As far as a premium, well I got a good deal on mine so I'm guessing that's a dealer trying to get the most $'s for it, maybe creating a shortage. I'm also not sure on the 5 per state. I know of 4 in central Florida and I'm guessing there's a few more than that in around FL.

Yeah...when I originally got mine, I thought the dealer was lying to me because the website and the brochure didnt show a blue one. Just the standard red and black. Lol...I actually called him back the next day apologizing because a lil research on the world wide web surely showed the blue was a limited edition from those guys at Kawi. Glad I got one...lol too bad there not numbered though. Wonder what next years colors will be.

I have wanted the blue ever since I first saw the Canadian Blue 12R. I am picking mine up tonight, so add another to the tally in Florida.
