Hindle dyno run on an 01

this is the pre stepped header Hindle with K&N's, PC3 and a Muzzys advancer set at 5 deg. Runs pretty good now after get this - 7 hrs of tuning

Kevin Cadby from Stock Mild to Wild(Jacksonville FL)did the tuning. Still needs a little work from 2-3k.... Red line is before any tuning on the DJ250 - blue is after 7 hrs of tuning with the tuning link.

He's got the old style, not stepped. Nice looking curve, Mantis. Did you see my ZRX head laying around their shop?

I'm going to make a run up there and put mine on that dyno. With all the hype about different dynos making different numbers I'm curious if there is a real difference between systems. My numbers are quite different from those.

Now I just have to find a day when it's not raining.......

Dave - I look forward to seeing your numbers. Lemme know if they pull off your side panels - they didn't on mine - I thought they should have even though they said the air flow was adequate....

Thanks

Is this the same pipe you are currently selling in the classifieds section HERE? If so, do you have any pics of it? I can't seem to find a satisfactory pic online.

Thanks

yes but I have decided not to sell it. As far as looks the canister is exactly the same as the new Hindle appearance wise - there is a there here somewhere with a pic from Vincent - I think

Thanks -

Hey Tony,

Here's the chart from my '02 overlayed on the chart from my '00. These were both done on the same DJ250 but not the same one yours was on. I'll get to that one as soon as I can.

I think leaving the sides on is ok as long as there was enough air moving. The operator should watch the engine temp closely during the run to keep it from overheating and maybe more importantly to get good results from the map by keeping it at normal temperature. Mapping an engine that's too hot (or cold) could skew the map from what it would need to be during normal operating temperatures where the motor will spend most of its' time.

Dave, thats pretty amazing how your 2 bikes curves are so close! The dyno room at Mild to Wild does have good ventilation BUT my bike still heated up pretty bad - my pipe changed color substantially. I guess thats why it took 7-8 hrs to tune it, because they had to let it cool and blow it with a fan outside of the room several times. If I were you I'd remove my panels - as a matter of fact Kevin said he would NEVER run a bike without doing it - he posted that here on Bikeland when he announced the new shop. I guess the owner didn't want him to take the time or something.... I look forward to your results

He Ran mine without taking off the panels...then again the bike sat in the AC with a fan on it for 45min before we ran it.

YCIS: what dyno results did you get? Just wanted to compare - was wondering if this particular dyno reads high or low

Thanks
