BST CARBON FIBER WHEELS!!!!
I have a set coming for a 14 right now. I'll post pics & give my riding impression when they're installed
If the weights are right the 14 loses more than 10 pounds on the rear wheel alone. Thats unspung, rotational mass. Gone!
I'm just alittle amped.....
The weights are running 4.6 lbs on the front wheel & 5.9 lbs on the rear wheel. The 14's rear wheel weighs over 16 lbs w/o carrier, sprocket or disc!
We are a new dealer for the best Carbon Fiber wheels made. Bikeland members are assured pricing that will not be beat!
Contact me through my site or call me at the shop.

I have the BST Carbons on my zx12. I have gone 155 in the 1/4 with it and over 200 in the standing mile. It is indeed quite light! It lofts the front end up more at the drag strip and in 2nd gear (fun!).
My bike, now lowered, handles not so great. The wheels helped it in the turns (well, helped a little to compensate for the lowered ride height...a little).
Sprockets can be switched over from the 12 to the 14 (but not stocker vs aftermarket of course), I loaned Greg (nos zx14) a sprocket at the TX Mile since we were both on BSTs.
If one can afford it, I would reccommend them. Pick one up in your hand, they feel like frisbees! They aren't cheap, but reducing your rotating mass by WELL OVER 10 pounds....you do the math ;-)

man i've always loved those things. beautiful! tho with teh amount of potholes i hit and the hard landings from bad wheelies, plus how chipped up my stock wheels are, i worry a bit. are these as tough as stockers for that kinda use or should they be used with a bit more care?

I've been told that they are far stonger than stock. I know they BST reps. "bounced" a set off the floor at a recent Bike Show! try that with your stock rim & let me know how it works out.
What I can tell you for sure is, I've got 400 miles of hard riding on them & I inspected regularly. Nada, nothing! No problems. I'm not a little guy either. 240lb w/ gear. There is a significant difference in turn in & accelleration definitely feels crisper. This is on an R1 mind you. The 14 will be an even more pronounced weight loss! They'll be mounted on the 14 this coming wednesday. The following sunday I'll be researching how many more bike lengths I've added to the difference of my fellow riders roll-on short comings!
Stay tuned! Pics will follow!

Freek,
I have a friend that sold those at one time and the pot hole deal is NO WORRY! He use to take a wheel with NO TIRE mounted and bounce it to the ground to show how tough they are. It never hurt the wheel at all. In fact I did it myself to one of his display wheels to to make sure. Granted anything can be broken if you really want to break it, BUT with a tire mounted to handle the shock it should be tough as hell. I have however seen one with the center twisted completely out of it. Keep in mind that possibly that wheel was flawed.

Installed the wheels today on the ZX14! Saved 9+lbs on the rear & 6+lbs. on the front. The 14 turns in similar to a GSXR 750! Well, a GSXR750 with a 14 motor in it! The difference is HUGE!!!
You think of turning and the bike is doing it! It will take alittle getting used to. Acceleration has also markedly improved! I would have to compare this upgrade on par with removing the secondaries. That is about the only way I can explain the depth of difference in handling! I'm extremely happy! Money well spent!
I'll upload the pics tommorrow, left them in the camera at the shop.
15+lbs of unsprung weight equats to feeling like a 75lb loss in sprung weight. Now I know what this bike feels like with a 160lb rider aboard. Incredible!

Did some dyno runs with the BST wheels on the ZX14. We hit 160 mph on the dyno .4 secs sooner with the BST wheels as opposed to the stock wheels. Rolled on at 3K to redline went from 7.9 seconds to 7.5 in a 5th gear pull.

I going to have to put a better steering damper on the 14 & the R1.
They definitely feel alittle light on the front wheels!!!
Also, the 14 showed HP gains up to 15 HP thru the rev range. Although the peak # didn't change. It's "wicked" responsive. Tru195 saw the dyno charts, he's already negotiating a set for the 07 GSXR1k.
Rolled on in 3rd against his Gixxer with the R1. We were head to head until the very upper part of the rev-range then he opened up a 2 to 3 length lead. 2nd gear was dead even. couldn't run the higher gears due to "rush hour" traffic. Not bad though for the R1 considering that it's down 16HP on the 3yr. newer GSXR1K. All gains were made by bolting on a set of rims.
I've talked to several of you on here about a group buy of 6 or more sets! I'll do a real good # on them. You guys just have to organize it. They can be for different bikes, as long as they make wheels for'em!
