Leaking Wire Harness Revisited......
On the other thread about the leaking wire harness I posted the fact that I was experiencing the oil leak like some of you guys were. Well I may be jumping the gun here but it appears that I have repaired mine. I used Y2K's method which was to pull the stator cover off and inject some RTV silicone up into the harness, and also cut a slit into the harness near the stator cover and injected more silicone. To go the extra mile  I even pulled the tail section off the bike and cleaned the oily residue off everything, cut the wire loom on that end of the harness, and injected more silicone there. Then I wrapped the wire loom in electrical tape and put everything back together.
I went out and rode Saturday and no oil leak, also rode in to work today, again no leak. I used Permatex Ultra Black silicone, I've had great success with that stuff on a wide variety of uses.
Like I said, I didn't want some Harley rider seeing me wiping oil out from under a Kawasaki. That just would NOT look good.

I'm wondering about long term effect of the oil on the wire insulation and connectors. Think it will degrade them ?

No, I don't think the oil will hurt the insulation on the wire.
