Midwest Streetbike Nationals!
Anyone who likes to bracket race a street bike should make it to this one. We'll see if the Boss Hosses make it out to attempt to whoop up on some "jap bikes". The all run race should be $1000 to win, and there is a class for each brand. The track is one of the best in the country, concrete all the way down. You'll be sure to turn in some of your best times. Tri-State raceway is in Earlville Iowa. You can see more info at Tristateraceway.com. I'm looking forward to seeing some other ZX12's there for a change. There is a campground on site, and the regular streetbike program on Sunday if you want to stay around. If you make it out, look me up. I'll be on the blue 2002 ZX12.

Since Angi went down, and Mad Mike is still getting his bike together, it looks like it will be just two of us to hold down the honor of the 12.

So what happened?
Give us a blow by blow of what went down today. I heard there was to be at least one Boss Hoss willing to run. Carburetor Mike

The Boss Hosses came rolling in about the time we were wrapping up time runs (at least 20 of them). They got a Hoss checked in and were allowed to make a time run. The rider was 60+ years old, and they say had the snowmobile top speed record (OK, he was nuts). The bike he was on was a 502 with nitrous. They claimed the engine had been dyno'd at over 750 horsepower on the bottle, 550 without. He had a road race rain tire on the back to try to hook up. I went up to watch the run (like everyone did). Looked like it hooked up well and took off. As he went down the quarter mile, it seemed to pull towards the left wall, and he had to get out of it before the 3/4 mark. I didn't catch the eight mile time, but the speed was 125 mph. Later, one of the guys was talking to me and saying that they wouldn't let them run through the quarter mile because they couldn't go in the nines without an NHRA license (which is true at my track) I told them so what, they're only going to get in one more run anyway, so just run it out the back and leave. The next run they found a set of leathers for another Boss Hoss rider, (small block) and they ran a time run together. Once again, it appeared as though the 502 Hoss was heading towards the wall and he got out of it. Same speed in the eighth, 125mph. I don't have much doubt that the big block Hoss could have been deep in the nines if he could have kept it going straight down the track. He said he still did not hit the nitrous button! After the second time run the Hosses all saddled up and rode on out. Looks like bracket racing was not their favorite passtime. I was turning times in the low 9.8 range (bad air). Won the Kawasaki class ($300) and the Showdown for all brands ($750). Sunday won the regular bike race ($200) Great weekend!

Pretty good turn out. Less than I thought, about 40 bikes. Last year that's what the money was for the big race, but they dropped the payout some. When's the ZX12 going to be back together?
