Isle of Man

Anyone follow the Tourist Trophy? It begins in a couple of hours.....

I should have gone. This is the centennial.

I wish I could have seen Dunlop, Jeffries, Hailwood, but I'm sure they would be
proud of the job McGuinness has done

One day maybe..I buy the video's every year. None seem as good as the first one I bought way back in early 80's "V-Four Victory " which i did not know what the IOM TT was just bought from a Duke Video ad in the Cycle Guide magazine. The on board video footage with Joey Dunlop was so much different than anything else out plus the variety of classes and the side cars -the latetr them guys must have steel balls!

damn i am an old fart!

I picked up a brand new 750 BSA Rocket 3 in London/Brixton in early June, 1970. It was the fastest stock bike on the planet for about 20 seconds (then the Honda 750 came out).

Ex wifey & i rode my spankin new Beezer to Liverpool and took the ferry to IOM to see the races. Way cool. Did the "bloody Sunday" lap around the "track", saw Agostini on an MV Agusta, had a GREAT time.

Unfortunately "Mike the Bike" Hailwood was off racing cars in 1970 and did not put in an appearance (think he stopped doing the TT in like 1968-ish???). He came back to the TT in the late 70's, but i wasn't there to see him

Harry is a lucky s.o.b., I can only hope to go someday before I die.

What has happened to McGuinness? Is he not racing the IOM this year? Looks like Ian Hutchinson has taken his place at HM Plant Honda and the top of the practice sheets too, he did a great job with the Kawasakis last year, glad to see him on top of things.

McGuinness is there. IOM web site qoutes him as saying that he will be the man to turn
a 130 mph averarge on the mountain course!

H2 to ZX12 ......does the condo at Port Erin have a dog house I can stay in
I spend a lot of time in the dog house here so I would be right at home

John McGuinness confirmed his place among the TT legends with a stunning victory on the Senior.

The Morecambe rider shattered his own outright lap record, smashing the 130mph barrier, on the way to securing his 13th TT victory. It means he is the thirdmost successful solo rider in the event's 100-year history.
