ZX-6r Clutch Springs in the 12r....
For those of you who want to pick up an extra 4 HP and get more power to the pavement, go pick up 6 new 2000 ZX-6r clutch springs and put them into your clutch basket. Cost is about $22.00, the clutch lever is much harder to squeeze, and the hookup is AWESOME. This mod is a lot cheaper than the Muzzy Clutch and it will serve you well until it blows up and you have the money to move up to a better assemply!

That's what I've had in my bike for 9 or 10 months.

Part number, please! I want to make SURE that I get the right springs. Any noticeable increase in wear/strain of the clutch cable (for those of you that have these springs installed for quite a while)?

part number for clutch springs
OK... that confirms the part number that I looked up on Kawasaki's website. Thanks.
Now... what about the strain and wear on the clutch cable? The 12R clutch cable looks pretty thin and fragile compared to some of the older bikes I've owned. It may not be an issue to be really concerned with, but I'd like to see some comments on clutch cable wear from those of you that have had the ZX-6R clutch springs installed for a few months. Go look at your clutch cable and tell me what you think!!

Do it , you'll be alright. Several people have done it and had "0" problems.

Hi guys......If you want even more bit, try Schnitz racing springs, they really make a big difference. You'll end up like Arnold after a week or 2 as well.
Remember for those of you who may not be comfortable with the clutch spring removal process, it's very easy, just pull one spring at a time and install the new one before moving on to the next of 6. You do not have to drain the oil to open the case. I have used the same gasket as well for about 4 opening and 5000klms.
I run with Klotz 10-30 full synthetic oil, it's good for 2 hp up top, red in colour and quite safe in your 12 Just change it more often than you would a 10-40.
Have fun.
Cheers,
Cliff
