Lowering strap question????
I just got my strap from Shnitz and I remember reading about it hitting the upper fork tubes. How do you remedy this? I am racing tommorow and would like to get this straightend out. Can I just grind the corner off the strap or what? Thanks!!!

Mount it on the lower bolts.
Might want to use a washer under each side to make it flush and even.

I just drilled a couple of new holes in the strap so it would not hit at all. That is before I found this site and had to learn it all myself!

Grinder wheel
I took a grinder wheel to mine to clearance the buckels on both the Schnitz brand strap (using now) and another brand strap. Also be sure to mount them at an angle, use the angle of the caliper as a reference. I am going to snap a couple pics for you now- see http://www.dontbescaredracing.com/photos/misc
I will try to post them here as well.

I thought about using the lower bolts but the bolt doesn't engage very many threads if I do it like that. I was thinking of grinding on it a bit and angling them like Rac4it. Thanks
