6/5 UPDATE FROM WILSON'S DAUGHTER

I had sent an e-mail to Wendy and this is her slightly edited reply...

Dear Sherman,

I can't tell you how grateful I am for the kindness of your chat room, and the friendships my Dad has made. I will tell you in another post just what he has been through in the past and you too will realize how blessed he has been.

Tomorrow
(6/6) he heads back into surgery. The doctors have said that they fear they will have to take his leg up to his hip because the femur bone is dying. They may or may not be able to save it. The infection may cause them not to be able to close the wound. However, if all goes well, and I believe it will, tomorrow they will not have to take any further bone, and they will do the skin graft to close the site.

He is very weak at this time, but his blood pressure seems good again. For so many days it lingered at 58 over 46 and now it is at 123 over 73 without medication. They have him from 12 IV bags down to only three. They tried to give him solid foods, but he threw it all up.

Currently he has a little fluid on his lungs, and is doing a lot of coughing up of flem. They have him on the three strongest antibiotics so they hope he does not get pneumonia. I will let you know how the surgery goes.

Note: I mentioned to her that I was sending Wilson's Gap 3 name tags and decals to Otis. I thought it would be nice for Otis to bring them to him instead of me just sending them directly to her.

I don't mind one single bit about Chris bringing my Dad anything at all. In fact, I am honored he wants to. I want everyone to feel like they are apart of his healing in whatever way they are comfortable. I believe strongly in a good community of prayer, and friendship and it doesn't matter who or where it comes from.

I have been truly blessed in bad situations from the comfort of words from people I have barely known. You never know what form an angel or blessing comes in. Please feel free to share anything I have written here as I have a family commitment to attend to tonight, and won't be able to reply to Dad's Bikeland.org chat room.

Also, I was able to read 7 cards to my Dad from friends around the country who sent them from the chat room. My Dad had big tears of gratitude.

Have a wonderful night,
Love, Wendy

Saw my buddy Wilson today!!!!

Well, I stopped by the Hospital to see Wilson today. He is recovering. He was talking. Wilson still has a long road to tow so keep the spirits and the prayers coming.

He has some great family standing behind him. They have been reading all of our posts to him. It means alot to Wilson that we are all he for him!

Thanks for everyone that is showing support!

Wilsons message to us was BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!! He said that to Ken and I but I know that he means for all of us to be carefull. When one of our safest riders is this badly injured it really makes you think about your riding and just out right luck!!!

Wilson is a strong old goat...young at heart....hell anyone that is 61 and rides a freaking ZX12R!!!!!!! LOL...When his daughter said.."Well, Dad you can always ride a Trike!!!"....Wilson said - hell know, I'll be riding my own motorcycle again!!!!

Wilson...(if your Mom or Daughter read this to ya)...You keep getting better and I'll pop in agian in the next week and half!! Stay strong....we are all praying for ya!!!
