E Australia: no speeders????
I've been driving here & there between Sydney and Hobart, and am REALLY amazed by how carefully Australian folks follow the speedlimits.
If the limit is 100km/hr, that's about exactly what everyone goes.
Sure, there is the occaisonal scofflaw blazing past at 103-104km/hr, but its rare.
Wazzup with this religious following of the limits????
In texas 50=70, 60=80, and 70 = whateva
What's up Ozzie & Tassie guys; why such strict adherence to the speed limits?
Jail time for 5 over or somethin????

The oz is really stricked on speeding,
I went to western oz a couple of years ago to see friends and they told me to watch my speed as the finers are really bad.
$100 for 20kph over the limit, I did get stopped on a road going from lake king down to essperece and i had just overtook a road train so i was pulling 140kph and he pulled me for 110kph.
He let me off but gave me a real good talking too and he was huge too, oh and his gun put me off.
I set the cruise control after that and never went more than 120kph.

Yeah noticed that too when was visiting Sydney couple of Years ago. There was a lot of talk on newspapers and on TV on speeding and radars and I also drive trough couple of radars. Plus they have cameras too but they usually inform of them. Not my coup of tea though! There are big distances and even so the speedlimits are really low! Just like in my country
